This past week, Lynn’s gallery show (titled For Better or For Worse: The Comic Art of Lynn Johnston) opened at the WKP Kennedy Gallery in North Bay, Ontario. Lynn flew back from her new home in B.C. to join us for the opening, and for a few days of events.

The day after the opening, Lynn visited Dark Horse Comics for a meet ‘n’ greet and book signing. It was well-attended and Lynn enjoyed talking with other members of the local arts community.

We were thrilled to have Lynn back in town for a few days. There’s still time to see the show: it’ll be up at the WKP Kennedy gallery until November 12th.

Fundraise For Farley month

The Farley Foundation is a registered charity that assists people in need, by subsidizing the cost of veterinary care for the pets that mean the world to them.

Royal Canin Fundraise for Farley Month, held in October, is the Farley Foundation’s biggest fundraising event. Throughout the month-long campaign, veterinary clinics across Ontario hold fundraisers in honour of the Farley Foundation, and the people and pets it serves.

Do you remember waking up and checking the comic section of the paper and seeing For Better or For Worse? Lynn Johnston, writer and artist, joins Martin Strong.

Starting as a medical artist, a 20-year contract led to For Better or For Worse, a comic strip, based on her own family. She discusses how her life was used as material for her comic for 3 decades, and the effect that it had on her family.
