Lynn's Comments: As the series about Mike's coming home for the summer continued, the letters asking me to remove Michael's beard became adamant. I knew he looked scruffy, but it had to happen. A guy has to grow a beard—just to see what it's like! I waited an appropriately long time before I gave in.

Lynn's Comments: I wasn't planning to give in to the readers who were begging me to remove Mike's beard...but Mike's opportunity to do some professional work begged the question, "Would an employer be more likely to hire him with or without the beard?"

Lynn's Comments: When my first husband and I moved to Ontario, one of the jobs he had at CHCH TV in Hamilton was as a cameraman on their televised wrestling series. We didn’t have kids at the time so I spent a lot of time at the TeleCentre up on the lighting scaffold watching wrestling!
