Lynn's Comments: This story begins with the true account of a friends' desperate bid to escape from East Germany. He managed to crawl through barbed wire, elude guards, and hide in a frozen trench. He made his way to Canada and I met him at art school. We remain good friends today. So many people have incredible stories. You just have to ask.

Lynn's Comments: Yup...this was fun—speaking in an arrogant, sophisticated encyclopedic jargon that even we had trouble understanding. These days, I just wait for "Question Period" in the House of Commons.

Lynn's Comments: When I did the strips about Michael working in a supermarket, I made up the name "Megafood" thinking it was unlikely that any grocery store would take a name like that. I was wrong. There IS a chain called Megafood!
