Lynn's Comments: There never was a "Martha" in my son's life even though readers were sure there was. I gave this character the name "Martha" for a friend whose life was in shambles at the time. It was a way of giving her a gift and she enjoyed it very much.

Lynn's Comments: Somebody once said that it wasn’t possible for men and women to be good friends without any "love complications" – just friends. Well, I "deg to biffer." I had some wonderful male friends in grade school, art school, workmates and beyond. The thing is to make sure your eventual life partner is also a very good friend!

Lynn's Comments: Here, I go into my own family history to reveal the diner/pool hall that my wonderful, eccentric aunt Margaret owned. Oakview Lunch and Billiards was a landmark on the road to Wasaga Beach in Northern Ontario. One summer, I took the bus north to help her for a week or two.

Lynn's Comments: If you're a fan of Jim Unger's "Herman," look at John's profile in panel 8. Doesn’t it look like it was drawn by Jim Unger? I loved the way he drew a non-expression like this. Guess the admiration rubbed off!
