Lynn's Comments: It's not hormones. To this day, I fight with my sewing machine and the machine wins.

Lynn's Comments: I once watched the end of a hockey game with Charles Schulz. We were in his den and he was in a bit of a grumpy mood. When the final shot was made, fans leaped from their seats screaming, "We're number one! We're number one!" He looked at me with a straight face and said, "That's ridiculous. They didn't do anything."

Lynn's Comments: My mom had a wonderful flower garden. When the daffodils came out, she would cut a few fresh ones—just open. She would put them in drinking glasses and drop a bit of food colouring into the water in each one so that we had a row of coloured "vases" —each holding one daffodil. Within hours, it seemed, the daffodil petals would begin to show a tiny row of colour along the edge. In a day or so, the veins in the petals were clearly seen as the colour flowed into them. It made a beautiful and fascinating show. We did this every year. I recently showed my grandkids this little miracle and they were thrilled. There’s nothing like nature to keep you fascinated.

Lynn's Comments: When I was a single mom, I went out with some very nice men. This happened on a picnic date. My son was putting rocks into a garbage can and my friend said, "Whatcha doing, Aaron? Making the world lighter?" I didn't stay with the man...but his sweet comment stayed with me.

Lynn's Comments: This is another true story told to me by a friend who just wanted sympathy. He got laughs instead.

Lynn's Comments: Once again, this really happened. Having a comic strip to fill every week made some calamities a GOOD thing! Real life gave me a constant source of maddening incidents that I could turn into funny.

Lynn's Comments: I looked forward to scenes like this just so I could make up the headings on the tabloids.

Lynn's Comments: When I announced in the strip that Michael would be going to university in London, I knew I'd get letters from readers saying, "It must be nice to be able to send your son to ENGLAND!" It was a lot of fun letting them know that London was a city in Southern Ontario!
