Lynn's Comments: My mother-in-law had an enormous freezer. When the family moved from Manitoba to Ontario, we had to defrost many years worth of baking and fish and frozen leftovers. Some of the pies had dates on them from 10 years past or more. It was like an archaeological dig! After this funny experience, I decided I'd never have a big freezer of my own.

Lynn's Comments: My first movie date was with Terry Manning. Terry lived on 4th Street, just a fast walk down the lane from my house on 5th. We went to see "Tarzan" with Johnny Weissmuller. We were in grade 4.

Lynn's Comments: Gordon was a character I really enjoyed working with. He was open and honest and vulnerable. Right from the start I wanted him to win.

Lynn's Comments: My little grandson recently asked his mother, "instead of visiting Santa at the mall, why don’t we order our presents online?" Ryan was only 5. Times sure are changing!

Lynn's Comments: My cousin Bob is married to Lois. It was fun to mention them and then wait for the response. I did this quite often, and the gesture was always well received.

Lynn's Comments: This line was delivered by a dear friend—a high school teacher who was very good at her job. Sadly, she said that "parenting" took up more of her time than teaching did.

Lynn's Comments: It drove me crazy when my dad stirred his coffee like this. He also sipped with audible slurps—unaware of how awful it sounded. Dad has been gone for long time, now. I wish I could hear him stir his coffee again.

Lynn's Comments: The first snowfall each year in Lynn Lake, Manitoba came with very low temperatures. I had never in my life experienced such cold. We bundled ourselves up in parkas, snow pants, hats and scarves, and the way we (friends and family) recognized each other was by the clothes we wore, the way we walked and where we were going!
