Lynn's Comments: This was so much fun to draw. When I look at this strip again, I remember drawing it in pencil and looking forward to tracing it with pen and ink. Feeling the bite of pen nib on paper and seeing the lines become the characters was like "bringing them to life." April (as a baby) and the dogs were an absolute joy to work on.

Lynn's Comments: I had a large assortment of very washable shirts. I also had carpets the same colour as the crud that landed on them.

Lynn's Comments: "Insecure Days" was one of the most requested reprints. I think it's because both pets and owners have "those days!"

Lynn's Comments: When I was young, I had a friend whose mom, an Avon rep., would give us her old samples. We'd stay in the bathroom for hours, painting each other up with makeup. When my mom caught us, she said that makeup was fine as long as she couldn't tell I was wearing it. This led to some very artistic application and fun knowing I was getting away with it.

Lynn's Comments: Somebody told me once that it takes 10 positive comments to overrule one negative comment. Seems like a lot, but then we tend to be very sensitive creatures.

Lynn's Comments: The question of when to stop nursing was settled for me when the kids started teething. One good chomp and I was singing the praises of a plastic bottle.

Lynn's Comments: I couldn't have drawn panel 2 if I hadn't felt the pain. Drawing images like this was (and is) an effective form of psychotherapy for me.

Lynn's Comments: The garbage dump in Lynn Lake, Manitoba was called, "The Exchange." Folks were leaving town on a regular basis and often the dump was a treasure trove of unwanted but really good stuff. I do remember getting all excited about a trip to the "nuisance grounds." Sometimes I brought home more than I threw away.
