Lynn's Comments: I often used to start big projects after dinner when the kids were in bed and the house was quiet. The trouble with this was that I couldn’t stop when I was tired–I was always determined to finish the job…which might be 3:00am.

Lynn's Comments: I did this. I had become somewhat good at wallpapering and offered to do my mother-in-law’s kitchen. She chose a Lily of the Valley pattern, and it wasn’t until I’d finished the entire room that she noticed the blossoms were upside down!

Lynn's Comments: This is from my childhood. I used to lean on my mom when she was cooking and annoy my dad when he was reading the paper, and at the time, I didn't know why. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized I was looking for affection. It’s not always easy or convenient to stop what you're doing and hug your kids, but when I was a young mom, I tried.

Lynn's Comments: Another glimpse into our actual lives. Word for word, some of our exchanges made it into the strip.

Lynn's Comments: Farley might have been my favourite character. He was fun to draw and he gave me subject matter that was neutral. Whenever I thought I might have run a storyline for too long, or if things were getting too serious, I’d push old Farley onto the scene for a little comic relief.

Lynn's Comments: One day when my daughter had had a bad day at school, she asked me when it would stop. When did the mean stuff and the teasing and the game-playing stop? I told her… "never."

Lynn's Comments: There was a time when it seemed that every hour of my day was filled with things I had to do. I was involved with school projects, community projects, the theatre, art classes and the gym.

Lynn's Comments: Looking back on all this now, I don't wonder where I found the time…I wonder where I found the energy!

Lynn's Comments: Next to Christmas, Halloween was my favourite celebration. I loved to make costumes and I loved all the treats, tricks and trimmings.

Lynn's Comments: This strip was done when certain 4 letter words were rarely used and never in mixed company. Now, they are commonplace. How sad. There was a time when we were proud of our language, and now we are working hard to protect it.

Lynn's Comments: Our dog Willy would wait until we had finished eating before he dug into his kibble. If there was the smallest chance of leftovers, he wanted to be sure he had room. I did this strip with compassion and understanding—I wouldn't want to eat the same thing everyday either!

Lynn's Comments: Living in small towns meant that we got to know the medical folks pretty well. Meeting a doctor at a party, who had just given me a physical check-up, was a challenge at first. Then, like everyone else…I just got used to it!

Lynn's Comments: I was going to write something about reading being far too important to allow TV and other devices to rob us of this essential skill. But I think I'll just let the strip speak for itself.

Lynn's Comments: The most frustrating committees I've been on are the ones where many suggestions are made, but nobody volunteers.
