Lynn's Comments: More than once I’ve been told by a doc that my problems were psychosomatic. Later, I was lucky to find a neurologist who told me my symptoms were real; that I did indeed have something serious. I always wondered if I’d have been so easily brushed off if I was a man!

Lynn's Comments: This is likely the worst pun I ever did. I had to set it up carefully. For example, I couldn’t put Mel’s name first in the dialogue—it might have given away the gag. The baby’s name, “Tabitha-Jayne,” is also a diversion away from the punch line. You have to craft these things just so. In the end, was this pun worth the effort? Well, YES!!! First of all, I like groaners, and second, even though it was an awful pun, it was a perfectly good idea. With a deadline always looming, I used whatever came to mind!

Lynn's Comments: A few years ago, I went to see my 93-year-old auntie. She was watching me from her balcony and waved me in. As I took off my jacket she said, “When you walked into the building, I thought you looked just like your mother.” I rest my case.

Lynn's Comments: Before I became a syndicated cartoonist, my husband and I would take time in the summer to work on his sister’s farm. We continued to do so whenever we could and it was fun to be able to feature Manitoba farm life in the strip.
