Lynn's Comments: When menopause hit, I couldn't believe how uncomfortable I was. The heat I produced was amazing. I would get up in the middle of the night and stand on our deck—happy to have a -30 degree temperature to cool off in. At times, I thought that heat-seeking satellites would be able to pinpoint our house when I was out there suffering!

Lynn's Comments: Ahhhh...I see here that I drew the wrong door in the background. The door you see at the end of the hallway, belonged at the back of the house. The front door had a different window. Some errors I haven't noticed until now!

Lynn's Comments: Having "kid-isms" to work with made writing for April a lot of fun. Many of these words came straight from home. Some came from friends, but most of them I just made up.

Lynn's Comments: Even with illustrations, some instructions are still really hard to figure out. A year ago, I bought a Toyota Prius C. The dashboard instructions are so complicated that I still don't know how to change the time on the clock! When daylight savings comes around, I mentally add an hour to the time.

Lynn's Comments: We are all well aware of the fact that growing kids need a lot of sleep. So, why is it that we can't let sleeping kids lie? ...I think jealousy has something to do with it!

Lynn's Comments: We had a sump pump in the basement and I was always afraid it would break down when we needed it. With this in mind, I had a skeptical plumber install a second pump in the same hole. Everyone thought I was being over cautious—until the rains came and the first pump failed. Chalk one up for mom-upmanship!

Lynn's Comments: Folks at the syndicate told me the American newspaper editors would all change the Canadian spelling of “racquet” to “racket.” Surprisingly, very few did. Maybe it's because "racquet" sounds better.
