Lynn's Comments: Our friends the Scotts had a menagerie at home. One of the pets their daughter owned was a tarantula spider that ate live crickets. She kept these in her room. All night long they’d chirp away but she hardly noticed. I couldn’t decide which would upset me most…having a huge spider in my room or the loud sound of chirping crickets!

Lynn's Comments: My husband realized this dream when he took over the management of the local museum and dedicated it to the railroad industry. He built a miniature railway that ran all around the ceiling.

Lynn's Comments: When my in-laws moved, we had to empty their freezer. It was huge and we went through the contents the way archaeologists would tackle a dig. There were pies on the bottom that must have been 15 years old. Not wanting to waste anything, Ruth dutifully cooked up everything she could—except the dried, wizened, freezer burned hot dogs. Not even the kids would touch those!
