Lynn's Comments: My first husband used to watch all kinds of sports on TV. It didn't matter what else was going on or what time it was, if there was a game on TV, he’d be lying on the couch watching it. I once suggested screwing legs onto him and turning him into a couch–that way he’d be useful. He didn't respond. He was too busy watching television.

Lynn's Comments: My mother used to make us sit at the table until everything on our plates was gone. My brother and I might sit there until bedtime, and if the meal wasn't finished, we'd find it set out (cold) for breakfast the next morning. No fooling! "Waste not, want not" was the catch phrase of the day…and I never really did understand what it meant!

Lynn's Comments: This, indeed, was what I experienced as a young mom. With a demanding job and many projects on the go, I hardly had time to think. I used to say, "If I didn't have to sleep, I could get SO MUCH done!"

Lynn's Comments: Somebody (might have been me) suggested we shake up the bottles of pop, drink them and see who could burp the loudest. The guys thought this was a good idea, so they and I got the contest underway. Carolyn and the rest of the girls didn't want to get involved, but they didn't want to tell on us either–in case it was a cool scene.

Lynn's Comments: I remember sitting like this and listening to my parents eating breakfast. It drove me crazy. My dad had full dentures and the sounds he made were different from my mom’s. The worst was the coffee "intake and swallow." I try not to make those sounds myself, but I'm not out there listening so I'm sure I do!
