Lynn's Comments: Our friends the Scotts had a menagerie at home. One of the pets their daughter owned was a tarantula spider that ate live crickets. She kept these in her room. All night long they’d chirp away but she hardly noticed. I couldn’t decide which would upset me most…having a huge spider in my room or the loud sound of chirping crickets!

Lynn's Comments: If any Canadians out there remember “Charlie Farquharson” —comedian Don Harron’s alter ego, you’ll recognize this sweater. As Charlie, he wore it until it was threadbare. Don and I were friends for many years, and after his death, his partner, Claudette, had his cap and sweater sent to the Canadian archives—a fitting storage place for two iconic pieces of clothing.

Lynn's Comments: I once dyed my hair with food colouring. I used red dye and thought I’d done a good job. I never noticed that my scalp was red and my neck was, too. After school, I walked home with a boy I had big crush on. He never noticed my newly dyed locks until, (you guessed it) it rained! I can still hear him laughing.
