When she wrote, illustrated and published a children\u2019s book, I showcased it in the strip. I have known Cecily since we worked shoulder-to-shoulder together in an animation studio in Vancouver. We were both in our 20s and newly married. With much in common, we became great friends. Time and serendipity separated us and then brought us back together again 30 years later when I put her name in the paper. Her cousin saw the strip and connected us again. Within days, we arranged to meet and did so in a tearful, happy reunion at the Seattle airport. Cecily was working on this book at the time.
