Recently in FBorFW, Shannon Lake made a speech to her fellow students - she asked them to get to know her and the other students with special needs, and asked that they stop picking on her. This story really caused a stir in our Coffee Talk - and we wanted to share the true-to-life inspiration behind it! Lynn's niece, Stephanie, is the model for Shannon's character - and Steph made a similar speech when she was in school. We asked her to comment on these strips, and we've collected her notes together in a "director's cut" feature that'll show you how Steph and Lynn put these strips together! We've also interviewed Steph to find out what life's been like for her since high school.
