I just love today's comic strip with Michael telling Lawrence that Santa didn't get his whole Christmas wish list the first time! What a clever answer! I don't remember that one from years ago, so I'm still enjoying all the new runs! Thanks Lynn. I look forward to reading your strip online every morning! ....and have a Merry Christmas! I've now mailed the FBOFW calendar to all my family members...another year. They look forward to getting them each Christmas. Thanks again for keeping us laughing and reading!

My family was lucky enough to live in Toronto for 2 years, 1972-1974, roughly parallel to your family and the Patterson's. I know you have a huge audience in the US but was wondering why no one in the strip ever wear the traditional 5 point Hudson Bay coats? We purchased a men's and ladie's version at "the Bay" and loved them. Comfortable and very warm while being quintessentially Canadian. Even the sportscasters and weather people wore them during CFL games and the news.
Haven't been to Canada in the winter for years so maybe the Hudson Bay coats are out of style and maybe "the Bay" is now owned by Walmart for all I know.
What's the scoop?

As far as I know, it's mainly tourists who buy those Hudson's Bay coats now! Most Canadians tend to wear something more practical, like parkas. Besides, drawing stripes is a hassle...
Thanks for asking LJ
The picture on the opening page of the website shows a letter to Santa Claus being mailed. The letter contains the Postal Code that Canada Post has assigned to the North Pole!
The Postal Code for the North Pole is H0H 0H0. Although, strictly speaking, the 0 is a zero and not the letter O, it is a clear reference to HO HO HO, which shows that Canada Post does have the Christmas spirit.

Did Elly seriously leave two little boys alone in a movie theater? That seems incredibly irresponsible, not to mention the theater employees couldn't have been too thrilled about it either.

For Better or For Worse has also been very special to me! I'm the same age as Elizabeth (born 1981), and as soon as I could read the comics I felt like she and her family were my special friends. Elizabeth and I went through school together, wore glasses, had pets named Farley (mine was a black and white hamster...), went off to college together, learned to teach together (though my students are undergraduates learning Spanish!), and after so much in common, we will even be married within a year of each other (this coming July!). I wish I could know her future adventures, too! Thank you to Lynn for such a dear companion all these years. p.s. I hope that a collected works will be in the works soon!
