I just wanted to say I appreciated the memorial tribute with April today. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day here in the U. S. My son is a Navy Commander. We are hopeful he won't be deployed.
We have lost friends in service over the years.
Again, Thank You!!

Hugs and more hugs! Reading the really ridiculous criticisms on here drives me nuts. Who cares if the fish was Fred or Frank? They are both fun names and it's such a minor thing. And the criticism about parenting from non-parents (I know I used to do it pre-kids too) is hopefully something you don't even notice anymore.
Anyhow, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. It's hard to be creative with all the negatives.
Do you know about Nanowrimo.org? It's National Novel Writing Month in November... and your strips are spot-on with my life right now. Especially with the reaction to Michael. I have two little ones (1.5 and 3.5) and you could have been looking in my window when you did the strip about Elly yelling at Michael.
Throughout the years, your strip has mirrored my life in so many ways (I was Elizabeth before... now I'm Elly) and I have always appreciated knowing that there's someone else going through the same trials and having the same humanity (meaning faults and virtues) as me. Thank you!

I couldn't stop laughing when I read the strip for Saturday November 7, 2009! So true, it's just impossible to do stuff with kids hanging off you anywhere! Another classic Lynn!

I LOVED Sunday's comic! How fantastic! It is a keeper!
Thanks for all your work, don't know what I would do without my daily FBorFW fix in the morning!

So a couple months ago I'm watching a repeat of "The Hour" with George Stroumboulopoulos interviewing Lynn Johnston. Near the end of the interview George asks Lynn what she plans to do next and Lynn says something like, 'Something good is coming. I don't know what it is'
I loved her optimism! I'm a songwriter and the song that came out of that interview just about wrote itself! I'd like to send Lynn a copy of it.
In the mean time, you can listen to it and download it for free from my website. http://musicbyyo.com
It's called "Feels Like a Kiss"
Hope it makes you feel like hanging in and hanging on.

I think Peter from Poughkeepsie, NY, USA has a good idea: Before the strip goes into complete repeats, why not have Lynn do cross-overs, the way that Berkeley Breathed did with "Bloom County" and Matt Janz did with "Out of the Gene Pool/Single and Looking"?
Just have the Patterson characters get silly with practically every strip that runs in most newspapers. (Having Elly ride off with Prince Valiant into the sunset might be taking it a bit too far...or maybe not.)
In answer to his remark, there was a "Pearls Before Swine" cross-over. I can't give the date that it ran - someone else has probably send that in here to Coffee Talk - but the cross-over by Stephan Pastis is described in "For Better or For Worse"'s Wikipedia entry. It would be very interesting to see what Lynn would have Pastis characters do in her universe.
I'm sure that readers wouldn't mind a few weeks of craziness - it would be fun!
