I feel bad for the goldfish. Believe it or not, goldfish are high maintenance! You need to give them a pretty big tank (2 fish for a 5 gallon is already enough) and make sure to clean it once a week, change a certain percent of the water, not to overfeed and keep it at a decent temperature.
Frank's little bowl was too small, so it's normal he didnt last. A fish that CAN last in a small bowl: Beta fish. Those are easy to care for, and they have some pretty nice colors sometimes. Other nice fish are fancy guppies, they can have brilliant colors, but they require a tank since a bowl is too small.

I would be frightened if I heard little kids talking like Mike and Liz in Sunday's strip.

Since he's hanging about, why doesn't John distract and occupy the kids while Elly's writing? And why doesn't Elly explain to Michael that she needs a little quiet to write, and that she'll answer his questions later, rather than being dismissive and then yelling at him? Or, failing that, why not write after he's gone to bed? This isn't exactly Advanced Parenting here.

Recently, an older strip with Connie using a typewriter was redrawn so her writing device was more ambiguous. But now we have a new-run that clearly employs a typewriter. Why have the Pattersons and company become "unstuck in time" like this? Why not pick 1981 or 2009, and stick with it?

"this is one more reason for me to end the newrun material soon"...
Are you going to be ending the strip then? or is there something else in the pipeline...
I don't think we've seen a pearls before swine crossover yet with FBOFW...:)
Would love to see how Rat & Pig would handle it...
