Now that I've read other people's comments regarding Friday's strip, it makes more sense. I re-read it a few times and could not figure out why Elly looked so shocked by what the professor said. Thank-you for the info. everyone!

Just a comment about the 10/25 strip where Elly is in the store and the kids are begging for treats. What parent hasn't given in to persistance? I remember doing the same thing with my own kids. Is it right? No, but the last panel says it all. Sometimes it is better to give in and have a little sanity. And I am sure that Elly doesn't give in to them every single time they want something. It's a learning process, so all those people who will critisize Lynn for letting Elly give in, think back to your own childhood...and try to remember if your parents ever gave in to one or two of your whims, or did they stand firm every single time?

I loved this past Sunday's strip! I teach educators about the importance of teaching expecations/behaviors proactively and being consistent in their discipline. One example we use is telling our kids BEFORE we go to Wal-Mart (or wherever) about we expect of them. This is the best!

I don't think there is such a thing as "super mom!", there IS a "super teddy!", though.(aka, mike patterson's teddy.)But if there was a super mom, she'd just have to love her kids a super lot, and try to do the best she can by them.(while staying sane--as we sawin Sunday's strip--haha!) I still love FBorFWand the all the work Lynn J.puts into it....thanks Lynn!

Your strip is the 1st thing I read after the main page head lines. I know why you changed your format. "A couple of weeks ago I drew and sent the last two weeks of dailies, bringing to a close the main storyline of FBorFW" I just wanted to say that there were several times your strip helped me over some hard times I had. It seemed your kids leaving the nest and going out on their own, the selling of your business, loosing your beloved dog (I lost my kitty) all seemed to help me deal with like situations. I know you never set up your strip as an advice coloum, but the venue of a comic strip is less pressure. I still read your strip, but miss some of the insights to others dealing with life. thank you for the times you did help.
