After all the input about little Elizabeth and the beer can, I have to add one more comment. I'll bet that beer can was empty, and at most she may have "guzzled" one or two drops. Notice in the drawings that two drops escaped in the process, so she didn't even get those! Thats the reason John and Elly didn't get upset, because they KNEW she didn't get any of it.

If she had swallowed warm beer dregs she would have made a face and said "Bleah!"

I could well relate to today's strip (Oct. 24). My dear hubby once told me long ago when I was working in an office and he was either driving truck or doing some manual laboar, that he "guessed that I worked as harde as he did, even though I just sat on my butt." Grrr! MEN!

Wow! I have the original book that Friday's stip was from and I noticed that you changed the punch line. Interesting choice!

It was interesting to see that Lynn changed the wording in the last panal. Originally, the teacher made a comment about others who were looking for a change. Isn't that right? This comment doesn't seem to warrent Elly's eyeballs bulging out of her head! That's so funny.

I noticed that the dialogue in the last panel of today's (10/22) strip has been changed. While it's sort of more modern to turn "Of course there are always a few housewives looking for a change" into "Others just want to right for their own enjoyment", it seems to me that Elly's reaction should also change. After all, he's just described the person she wants to be so she shouldn't act as if he's described her as the person she doesn't want to be mistaken for.

I am a daily visitor to the FBorFW website because Lynn's insight and humor about the everyday events in people's lives are so genuine and often touching. There is so many times a resonance with your own life that brings back the good and the sad memories that are absolutely heart-warming and genuine.

Elly going back to school brings to mind what must be a universal unease that we all feel when we encounter new experiences like a new job, a new place to live or as in Elly's case the first day in a university. It is these common human experience themes so aptly portrayed that make FBorFW such an outstanding strip. Thanks to Lynn and her team for keeping the flag flying and the standards high!
