Well, in the state of Oregon self-serve gas stations are against the law. That's today, in 2009. All gas stations in that state have an attendant who puts your gas in the car.

Sunday October 4th strip reminded me of a story. When I was much younger, I had an electric shaver just like the one John was using. I was staying one weekend at my fiance's house (under parental supervision of course). One morning I decided to sharpen the shaver. This is done by putting some cream-type superfine grinding compound onto the blade and running it (this is commonly done).

Anyway, I was midway through this job and I got a call the breakfast was ready. So I turned of the razor and placed it back in the upstairs medicine cabinet and went down to eat. An hour or so later, I remembered the unfinished shaver sharpening and went back upstairs. When I picked up the shaver, I noticed that the blackish sharpening cream was partially wiped off the shaving head. I knew what had happened.

I finished, cleaned up the shaver and put it away, and went downstairs. There was my fiance's seven-year-old brother with a dark smudge on one cheek! I looked sternly at !him, and said, "Did you use my shaver?" He slapped his hand to his cheek and froze, his eyes as big as headlights looking at me. I couldn't help cracking up with laughter and had a lot of fun telling the story to the rest of that large family.

That boy is about 60 nowadays. I wonder if he remembers.

I just wanted to say that I'm still enjoying the strip and reprints. Especially the reprints, because I love 1980's things! I just have one question- are you going to reprint the first three comic strips that you see on the first page of "Mike and Deanna:A Love Story-The Strips"? Thank you!

Early in the spring of 2010, the strip will run without changes (none are planned, anyway!) so the answer is "yes..the story of Mike and Deanna will eventually come to light again." Thanks for asking.. Lynn J
