Thank you to Betty W for sharing your beautiful memories of your husband. Your letter really touched my heart.

I have to agree with Elly. I grew up on an acre of apple trees, peach, lemon, orange pear, etc. I remember my mom constantly canning and making apple pies, applesauce, etc. We all benefitted from her delicious cooking, but she was in the kitchen constantly. She's gone now, and often we all go back and help take care of Dad who lives alone in the same house. Last time, Dad wanted me to take home apples, pears, etc. So, we picked apples and had so many when we got home to San Diego, that it took me a few days in the kitchen. I still have some applecrisp in the freezer and applesauce left.

Yes, it was delicious, but it does put Mom in the kitchen for days! John has the easy job - picking them out and bringing them home to Elly! Why doesn't John help peel apples to teach his kids that it's hard work to many ymmy food from the fruit? I have yet to see a man in the kitchen for days making anything!

Also, Please print the toilet paper strip again, Lynn! Even with the May 15th, 88 date, I can't find it in any of the books. I didn't realize the dates aren't on the strips in the books! Now, I wish I'd have kept all the scrapbooks of your comics I tore out all those years ago!

...and what are the DVD's of?

Thanks for your wonderful message about the fall kitchen duties, Kristin. The DVD's we are getting ready are the 6 half hour animated specials I did with Lacewood studios, years ago! They are holiday themed and will be made available soon. Happy fall baking!

Elly's friend would be in trouble if she lived in Irving Township. You can only watch an unrelated child 4 weeks a year.

I'm...I'm very confused. When Deanna left town, she and Michael seemed to be on great terms. They played in the snow together and were able to quickly resolve the spat where Miachel yelled at her. Now Deanna is back, and she's ignoring/being rude to Michael. Why did Michael feel the need to bump into her, just for a chance to say "sorry"? When did this barrier come up between them? I'm puzzled...
