Dear Betty W, from Los Angeles, CA. Your letter was so touching it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing your wonderful story with us. May we all have as much love and joy in our lives as you have in yours.

I just received my 2010 calendar today, and couldn't wait to open it! I want to thank you for the greeting cards included; that was such a nice surprise! I had to read the whole calendar......every page was better than the next! and enjoyed each and every one! Oh, and by the way, I don't recycle the old calendars, I keep them! :^) Thank you again!

Elly could easily have prepared a healthy snack for Mike and Liz using two apples (or less) instead of heading into Stepford mode. When adults in authority equate eating produce with either "work, work, work!" or "let's immediately coat this in sugar so it will be palatable", it's a given that their children will skip the fruit for something that's already gustatorily appealing without the work.

Thank you for continuing the character bios for the old cast of characters! Their stories are one of my favorite things about this site.
