Tuesday

I don't think Elly should be telling Mike that his school years would be the best 12 years of his life (9/5). That's a pretty detrimental attitude, even if it does explain why Elly is constantly in despair.

Mike's teacher is using a blackboard because Lynn is revisiting her entire collection starting from the beginning of the strip, adding new content in the old style. We are looking at a time period of 20 years or so ago, before whiteboards.

"No one said that [September 2, 2009] was Michael's first ride on a schoolbus"? Well, in the strip that ran on Saturday August 29, 2009, Connie says, "Lawrence is looking forward to riding the bus with the big kids." That strongly implies that they were not taking the bus before.

I happen to like NB's comment and hope she will post again.

I noticed how easy it was to get Micheal to school. I remember when I had to bring my youngest brother to the bus stop on mornings when my mother couldn't because of work. He would do ANYTHING to get out of it, dragging himself on the ground, screaming, yelling, taking off his clothes on the walk there, he even bit me once and pulled my hair! (Siblings are a pain like that)

I never really got mad at him directly, just mad in general that it was ME who was stuck with the "monster brother" for 30 minutes in the morning before school, and that all the other mothers at the bus stop would give me the sigh and "she had no idea how to care for her own sibling.." look, without even offering a bit of help or advice.

Elly is lucky to have good neighbours like Connie! I bet they help each other out all the time if they need to! I wish some of the other moms at that bus stop would have given me a hand.

My daughter is now in First Grade, like Michael is, (again):) She loves it! And to think we celebrated her birth in 2002 with her being born a couple weeks before Meredith, Michael's daughter. Here's to seeing life through a 7 year old's eyes (And my girl will be seven at the end of September :))She is learning so much and will be learning how to use computers and Hebrew at her school.

My oldest daughter was born a few months after April, so I watched them grow up "together." Now, Michael is beginning Grade 1 again, as is my youngest son. Ellie's youngest peers with my firstborn, and my youngest peers with Ellie's oldest--what a strange time warp Lynn has created for me!

I've been a devoted fan for years and have always been able to relate to fborfw as a mom, teacher, daughter, wife and as a female continually adjusting her identity for the a fore mentioned roles! Every morning with coffee by my laptop, I make a stop here to know another gal in toon land faces the same situations I have and had.It is fun to have a laugh! THANKS!
