Why can't Elly tell John to entertain and feed his own friend? (Aug 1) He didn't call in advance. I don't feel bad for her if she can't stand up for herself.

It has been almost a year since you have started over, I had been a reader on and off till April arrived (my sunshine surprise arrived 2 months later Aaron) I faithfully read the strip since then 17 years last year. I understand you wanting to tie up loose ends and start from the begining but I miss Elly and what she does today as I also am in stride with her. Just wanted to put in my 2 cents. Your stip today is wonderful, I just miss yesterday!

Just wanted you to know that I do enjoy the new FBoFW column. I'll admit it took some getting use to since I kinda considered the Pattersons like members of my family. Since I didn't read the column when Mike and Elizabeth were small, I'm starting all over again with them. Keep up the good work.

The thing I have most disliked about your new-run strips with Farley the dog is the regular theme of animal abuse. You had gone since your May 31, 2009 strip without any new-run strips showing Farley being abused, and I had hoped you were done with it. Then you had the Sunday August 2, 2009 strip. Elly is visibly furious at Farley and Farley looks frightened. You can brush dogs so hard you hurt them, and Elly is definitely doing that here. Not only does she appear to be hurting him, but that look of terror on his face suggests that this is a regular occurrence. Please stop writing dog abuse strips.

Lovely that you are treating hanging out of laundery as perfectly routine! Go Green!
