Hello Elly, John here.Hey I just wanted to say something about today's (7/13) comic strip. As a single dad I had a lot to learn early on, one of those was saying "NO" too soon and saw the hurt in my children's eyes. As soon as I heard myself say the dreaded word it was quickly followed by the word problem.

Lynn, thank you so much for your story about Squirt last week. We have a pair of young skunks that have taken up late night hours in our backyard. As I mentioned in the wee hours a couple of Fridays past, our dog Chelsea got sprayed by one skunk! At 2:30 am husband was on the phone getting a recipe to bathe her with for some reason we weren't to use tomato juice. (In fact we were only calling to see if we could use V8 which we had in the cupboard!) Anyway for my daily roast friends that recipe was a 16oz bottle of hydrogen peroxide, a box of baking soda and one or two teaspoons of mild hand soap. This is used to wash the dog for no more than five minutes, then rinse well. This was to prevent irritation and to avoid dyeing the fur I think. It is a good idea to wash them right away and not let the dog sit in the garage overnight as some people do. The smell can get into the pores and it can take 3 to 4 months to work its way out!!

Hi, Lynn Johnston! First let me just say that you're a genius for creating this strip. I've been reading For Better or For Worse ever since I could read, and I love all your work and all of the characters, but my favorite character is Michael. I like him because he's very dramatic, and creative, and funny, which reminds me of myself. He's also the most handsome one, in my opinion. I like how he is as both a child and as an adult, and I wish that I could have seen more of him. (I'll only be 13 in twenty more days, so I missed out on the old stuff.) I also like how he got a career in writing and how nice he is to his wife and children. On Amazon I noticed that there is a book called "All About April". Is there one that's all about Michael? If not, that's okay, I'm just wondering. Oh, one more thing- who's your favorite character?

Lynn's favourite character is Farley! He's the most fun to draw.
