Just wanted to tell you that when my husband came in to kiss me goodnight the other night he said I looked traumatized. I had just finished re-reading "Starting from Scratch" and crying my eyes out over Farley--again! It doesn't matter how many times I read those strips, I still cry every time.

I have read Farley's farewell many times and it ALWAYS leaves me in tears. You get used to it.

What a sad Father's Day! John's every wish was subverted by Elly. She was at home all week but couldn't make it to the grocery store. And--are dry cleaners open on Sunday in Canadian suburbs? She just kept giving him orders, using that new yet slightly familiar open-mouthed smile. And neither John nor Elly gave a thought to the kids. Shouldn't they take part in celebrating Father's Day? Now it's Monday and Mike is in his coldly calculating mood. Not that he sees much warmth at home; Elly gave more affection to Farley last week than we've seen her offer her kids.

I really love your comic. But I have a question..why have you gone back in time? what happened to the new ones with mike and his wife and Elly and John getting older, the grand kids????Is there a reason? Thank you and Thanks for this great comic!
