« A change of format for Coffee Talk | Main | Lynn on Memories: »
To those who posted regarding Friday June 5th's strip, where Lawrence says "Good thing we didn't flush"...the whole point is that the kids thought Lawrence's mother wouldn't know that they had snuck over there to use the bathroom, but of course she WILL know when she sees the unflushed toilet in the morning! Lighten up...I thought this was hilarious!!!!

I love that the strip has gone back in time. My nephew is almost six and spends a lot of time with us. I see so much of Michael in him and relate completely with Elly. Thanks for sticking around and giving us more laughs, Lynn.

I can usually find something good to say about every strip, but today's (June 10) is different. What a terrible thing for a husband to say to his wife, or for anyone to find funny.

How ironic! John comments on Elly not wearing makeup early in the morning, and there he sits, unshaven and frumpy!

When Ellie's portrayed as the ditzy housewife, and John "The Man"...I really miss the more evolved characters. Perhaps noting the original publication date would put it in proper context?

As I read your comic strip daily I just thought I would tell you that I am one of the people that really enjoy going back to the Patterson's early days as a lot has been forgotten from the formative stages of the family. Going back gives us a clearer understanding of the future episodes. It's nice to remember some of the things that happened in our own lives that had been forgotten about until they are seen in print.
I like to see the day to day dealings that Elly went through raising her children and to see her become a stronger woman dealing with children, grandchildren, running the household and also her keeping her business going. Retirement was the last natural step for Elly. I know it's a cartoon but I think a lot of people see their own lives within each frame of your daily strip. Keep it up.
