Great as always to read the "re-run" strips, but while going through the classic content page, I saw some unfinished business. I remember how well, and touchingly, you told Lawrence's story in the collection "There Goes My Baby" and the later treasury. I think, if you add anyone else's biography to the classic "Who's Who," it should be Lawrence. Even in the improving acceptance of gay people and marriage, there's still need for a real, and positive, telling of one "fictitious" family's dealing with a teen coming out. Just a suggestion.

Women have made a ton of progress since the first time you started publishing and all this blfpttt!!ing at John because he's a big mean male bully is getting out of hand. Our world is so divided as it is, why deepen the chasm?

This is my interpretation of Elly's "BLFPTT" on Tuesday. It was not directed at John, and was not likely seen by him - he was out the door already. It was what she thought about his saying that she wouldn't enjoy going with him if it were possible. Elly likes adult company and feels overly inlfluenced by being with her kids 24/7 as do many mothers of small children at one time or another. "BLFPTT"is what Liz said when she was trying to talk and the way Michael expressed his frustration when he couldn't get her to say "Ma Ma". He expressed himself similiarly to an elderly lady (after she turned her back)who gushed over how cute Liz was and totally ignored him.John sees his kids a lot - he would have recognized this for "Patterson family expression of emotion" if he had seen it and, in my opinion he would have laughed. For those who don't remember the relevant strips, or are just starting to read FBorFW check out September 13, 2008 and September 22, in the archives.
