Sleeps = bedtime
naps = sleeping during the day

Michael would know the difference. It's not substandard English, it's relating to him in a way he can understand.

If you like here is my favo. cassarole that made when I had a home day care.All the children loved it and the parents asked for the recipe.
1 can of creamed corn
1 lb. of hamburger, browned and drained
2 cups of mild cheeder cheese,shredded
8 cups of mashed potatoes
layer the above in cassaroli dish and bake at 350 for about 20-25 min.,until golden and bubbly. NO LEFTOVERS!!

Hi Lynn,

It's uncanny to me how quick-to-criticize some can be of how willing you are to share your creativity with the world through FBOFW. You're not forcing anyone to read the strip, and, yet, there are some who seem so dissatisfied. Do I agree with everything in the strip? No, I do not. But I am not the creator. I am merely a girl who gets enjoyment and amusement from a comic strip that characterizes the average, imperfect family that we all have. Way to go, Lynn! You make us proud!

I lived in the US for 5 years in the 90s and have followed your strip ever since via Internet - it is part of my everyday life. I was initially gutted when it "finished" but still enjoy the strips I see daily although they are no longer a "soap" (I don't really watch TV so guess this was my soap fix...)

Goodness -- all this fuss over a simple Wiener Casserole? Just replace the wieners with Kidney Beans, layer some corn nibblets on the spuds before you add the cheddar cheese, and voila: "complete" protein, tasty and colorful --especially if you add those "Green Onions" to the potatoes.

Lynn,
I have to say that while I was leery at first of the new "hybrid format" strips, they've grown on me. I'm enjoying watching the old stories again, this time through the lens of experience and with new pieces to fill in some of the blanks.

Thanks for brightening my mornings for all these years.

So Elly tells John she's left him a week's worth of food in the freezer, and now he's talking to Michael about going out to restaurants.

Seems Elly's family shares the general opinion about her Wiener-Cheese casserole.
