John, my friend, you are absolutely correct. We do need people who can raise kids into functional, self-actualized adults. But please remember that raising kids and raising the consciousness of the rest of the world is not an "either-or" proposition.
It is my belief that you set a good and healthy example for your children by demonstrating that each of us has a responsibility to improve our world. Even better is when you work to do so as a family!
And while I have your attention, give little Michael the crazy wind-up teeth. Find a weekend writers' workshop for Elly, sign her up, and promise to take care of the kids while she's off waxing creative for a couple of days.

I've loved FBoFW since I was very young. I grew up with Mike and Liz. The reset is an interesting idea, and I've been enjoying seeing the beginning of the characters I loved. However, I can't *stand* John. I used to like him, but in his younger days it seems he was a real *jerk*. I don't like how he treats his wife or his children. It's almost enough to put me off the strip entirely.
