I admit that I stopped reading the strip shortly after the "re-runs" started, only occasionally checking in. But now I've been able to see how Farley became a member of the family, and now how Michael and Deanna came to be. Needless to say, I'm hooked again. I didn't start reading the original strip until the mid-1990's, so I'm enjoying what is still new material for me! I had doubts if the re-runs would work when the original storyline ended, but you've successfully managed to go back in time. I now find myself just as captivated by this family's early story as I was in their later years. Congratulations on a job well done.

Boring? No way! I still miss not having a continuing story, but I'm really enjoying seeing the old strips again and seeing ones I missed the first time around.

Thanks, Lynn.

In response to the reader who said your strip was boring.. no it's not! I am really enjoying it even after being disappointed that we will not see the progression of the family after Elizabeth and Anthony wed. Was very happy to see you continuing with your work. I perhaps am ignorant as far as how much work it takes to produce a daily strip but maybe there could be a small update book of the adult children? or o.k. ok...maybe we should just let go! smile thanks lynn for your many years of work and talent..

Hi, Lynn,

Glad to see the "new-runs." They're fun, and add more depth to the past strips. Even in simplifying, you seem to be borrowing am idea from the comic-book medium - retconning. That is, revisiting a past story and slightly (or in the superhero biz, majorly!) tweaking events to fit a new view on old events. Is that why Deanna is moving sooner than you had her in the originals?

Keep up the good work!

How do the current new strips reconcile with the fact that, in the old strips, Deanna was around until Michael was in the fourth grade? Is that aspect of the story no longer canon?

I was a bit hesitant when you announced the changes to your strip, but I have to say I have really enjoyed being able to travel through time back to when Michael and Deanna met. The funny part is (at least to me) is that I keep wondering where April is! Silly me! :-) Thank you for all your time and effort. I am still a daily reader and will continue to be. Thank you!

Elizabeth, Oregon

I am so glad the strip didn't stop...thanks for taking us back to the beginning. I find the cartoon strip to be so comfortable...like the proverbal old shoe. The first thing I do each morning before I start work is to read the cartoon online.

By far, you had the most compelling strip until you revisited the past. I respect your decision to scale back but I don't think the revisitations are working. It's unfortunate. I am embarrassed to admit I cried when the dog died, I anxiously awaited to see if Lizard Breath would connect with Mr. Wright or Anthony. Now, I go for weeks without reading the strip. I'm apathetic and it's sad that that is how I will remember For Better or Worse.

I can completely understand where Michael is coming from in his shock that Deanna is moving. I had a girl in elementary school I had a huge crush on... and she told us she was moving the last day of school. I was so hurt, and I had no idea what I could do.

I wonder what will happen... Oh wait, I think I know!

Loving the old strips - they are new to me!!
