Dear Lynne,,just let me say how much I,,, over the years have enjoyed ALL the life time events,I have NO complaints at all,,,, all these years just the joy of daily reading thanks for all the wonderful work~!~!

I'm mystified by all the sturm und angst here (well, among other things) at the "ending" of the strip. Are all the FBOFW books out-of-print such that those who want to relive all the thrills and spills of the Patterson clan are denied?
Linda, Tucson AZ
As a long time reader I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the laughter you have brought into my home over the years. Years ago I began reading the strip in my local newspaper, but later depended on the website for my daily fix. I will miss seeing the characters, especially Elly and John, my favorites, move forward in time.
I will continue to read the strip every day whether it's old or new because I need my FBorFW fix.
I wish you good luck and good health in the future.
Bonnie,
yes elly and john will last forever no matter what!!!!!!!!

So, Liz and Anthony's wedding is on August 23rd. Why does that date sound so familiar? I've been wracking my brain since the date was announced earlier this week. Is it a friend's birthday? Family member's anniversary? First day of school?
Oh, that's right, it's Anthony and Therese's wedding anniversary. Good job, Liz and Anthony. 365 days in the year and you picked the anniversary of Anthony's first sham of a wedding. Brilliant. It would be funny, if it wasn't so sad and overall representative of this entire relationship and marriage.

I will miss waking up in the morning and running to the computer or news stand just to read the daily strip. But I know you have been drawing the pattersons for over 25 years and you very well deserve retirement. I'm sure you will end the strip with class, style, shock and most of all reality as you have always done an amazing job at! Even thought some poeple say the Pattersons are only fictional they will always live on in my heart and many others. I will pass on mybookhat the pattersons will live on also in the next generation. Have a great retirement Lynn thanks so much Lynn!!

Today's strip was sooo heartwarming and funny!! You must be spying on my family. It is so wonderfull that Elisabeth and Antony are getting married at last, I was so surprised and didn't see it coming. Poor Jon, having to pay for a big wedding. April should cut her dad some slack, he is so stressed out over paying for the wedding. She is so spoiled.

A friend of mine once said being in 'love' is a form of insanity. Both Liz and Anthony have been through that. Both seem to be a little leery of it. What they have has some degree of maturity. They both have received a different out look from being wounded. Remember Anthony was head over heals over Fran's mom.

Please do the world a favor and have anthony killed in a car crash on the way to the wedding. Or have Liz's grandpa pass away before then cause he's suffered enough and watching her make a huge mistake like getting married to the wrong guy may do him in anyway.

Just read the partial bio on Anthony. Now that we know about his Mom and home life we see history repeat. Has Anthony worked through his trust issues, will in the end he becomes to needed, or will he become his father and send every woment running????
Please, we don't have to ever end the strip.... in the future if it can't be every morning... I will commit to Sundays, or Thursdays.. You pick. I may end up with issues if you leave forever.

Poor John --!!
In ancient times huge Banquets were given at which sumptuously-fed Guests got showered with "souvenirs" in the form of lavish take-away gifts, while the Host's own most prized possessions might be tossed around for their amusement like childrens' toys. The point of such opulent display was of course to underscore the Feast-Giver's Wealth and High Social Standing. Similarly, the prospective Bridegroom might bestow a magnificent Lion, Bear or Tiger skin upon his future Bride, proving his fitness as a hunter and thus his ability to "protect and provide" -- kind of the way the size and splendor of today's "Diamond" supposedly reflects the Groom's Earning Power. Hmmm...maybe we haven't "Evolved" as far as we like to think we have ?
But what the Hey --- It's "Our Liz" getting Married, so let'a Wrap Things Up in Style .... !!

Elizabeth and Anthony are getting married on the same day he married Therese five years earlier? That is just creepy.
What were you thinking?
Jean, New York
Let's see - free flowers from Lawrence, free formalwear from Anthony's uncle, free seamstressing from Mira, free dress from the cellar... What exactly is costing John a bundle?
