Yippie! Ye Haw! Yes!!!!! Absolutely about time! Liz and Anthony are FINALLY engaged! I am SOOOO happy that they are finally engaged. This is so exciting. I can't wait for them to set a wedding date and tell their families. I just about leapt out of my seat when I read the strip where he asked her to marry him. Take that Warren and let this be a sign for you to get lost!!
Jessica S, MofD, VA
Let's have an engagement party, I'm so excited!
Ruthann, Ft. Thomas, KY
I am so HAPPY that Anthony finally asked Elizabeth to marry him. They both have gone through so much and have grown-up. I was so hoping they would get back together. And the way he asked her was just so natural.
Carmen U, Salinas CA
Well Lynn I understand now why you reintroduced Warren to the story. It was to give Anthony the push he needed to propose to Elizabeth.
Some people have posted here that they feel Anthony is a wimp, I seem to recall he was not a wimp when he defended Elizabeth from that creep at the garden shop.
Some people can't seem to understand why Anthony was hesitant abour marrying again, having been in that place myself I can understand his feelings. I felt the same way after my divorce and before I proposed to my second wife.
Also about Anthony's former wife, some women (as are some men)are not cut out to be parents. It might have seemed like a good idea, but when reality sets in some run away from the responsibility.
John T, Lancaster PA
One word:
FINALLY!!!!
(ok, a few more ...)
YYYYEEEAAAHHHHH!! You go, Liz and Anthony! The longest courtship/quasi-courtship in comic history ends!
Steve U, Michigan
Mazal Tov to the happy couple! YAY!
I R, Wisconsin
That was the most formal, boring, unromantic proposal I have ever seen.
Frank, Texas
YAHOO! I was SO excited to see today's strip!! It's about time! LOL! Anthony and Liz are so perfect for each other. :-) Thanks, Lynn, for wrapping things up this way and getting rid of that darned Warren! ;-)
Teresa, Sister Lakes, Michigan
I have been HOLDING MY BREATH for Elizabeth (yes, I do have a life, but I love my funnies)! THANK you for finally giving her someone decent to be with!!!!!!!!
I have loved this strip for many years. It feels like the family everybody wants but doesn't necessarily get. Even the warts are GOOD quality warts...
sincerely,
Denise in Ohio
Yay! I'm excited for Liz and Anthony. I have thought that they were meant to be together for a long time and I'm thrilled that they are finally ENGAGED! I, like many others, relate to Liz. We are about the same age and I am a teacher as well. It's so much fun to watch these characters grow and change.
Ruth S, Wichita KS
Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! I can't believe Liz and Anthony just got engaged. I'm so happy for them.
Thank you Lynn for everything.
Sonya, Limerick Ireland
Finally! Anthony proposes to Elizabeth! I was beginning to think it would never happen. I am delighted the story line is finally going this way.
Lynn, I've been reading FBorFW for many years. Thanks for a warm, touching, realistic, and humorous look at family life. Sometimes, you just can't make this stuff up.
Lisa in NJ
I feel like saying "Yeeaaaah!" right along with Elizabeth! I'm happy that Anthony finally proposed!!!!!!
Rose H, USA
Lynn - I love the Patterson's and have been in love with them since Elly and I were both pregnant in 1990-1991! I also had a daughter (in May of 1991) and have enjoyed comparing April to my daughter. I'm pretty sure they would be friends!! It's turned into a daily must for me and can't tell you how much I have enjoyed it over the years. Thanks for all the memories!
Jeanne, Elmira NY
YAHOO!!!! Finally! WOW!!! SO much excitment!!! Engagement are my favorite thing. I've been reading FBorFW daily for the past 15 years, I am 23, and it's the first thing I do every morning. Keep on the good work Lynn!!! :) thanks for all the emotions you make me live trough your characters!
Véronique
I want to be the flower girl....with Francoise, of course!
Geri C, NYC
Yes! I am so happy that Liz and Anthony are going to be together. They are best friends and will make a wonderful couple. Now, when will she be wearing the wedding dress?
Judi H, Oswego IL
Thank God! Liz and Anthony together at last! Please have fun with a June wedding! Elly as Mother-of-the-bride will be a riot!
Connie, Neptune NJ
Hip hip hooray for Liz and Anthony! I've been waiting for this for years!
Shannon, Michigan
NO NO NO NO NO!!!
Oh, Liz... He doesn't even have a ring, and this conversation was sparked by his fear that you'd go with Warren, or someone else! Oh...
I'm so sad for Liz! Even IF Anthnoy is the one for her... she deserves a better proposal. In the moments before this, he told her he wanted to take it slow, and now they're engaged!!???!!!
Oh, Liz... I hope that you catch on to what's happening!
Lauren, New England
I am thrilled Elizabeth and Anthony are engaged! I think even Therese knew they were meant to be together and sensed their chemistry, which may be part of why she was always so threatened by Liz's presence.
Sunday's strip with Liz and Franci showed their bond is solidifying, and that sh be maternal AND fun at the same time, and Francie's plea to not want her to "grow up too fast" seems to echo her fear that she will lose Liz like she lost her mom if Liz becomes as serious as her mom is. My daughter and I share many silly moments as well as serious, and it really warms my heart to see Liz develop this relationship with Francie.
I guess Warren's sudden appearance prompted Anthony to face his fear of re-committing, even with Elizabeth. Though it is clear he trusts Liz completely, he now sees he needs to take things to the next level to keep from losing her.
As for those who are critical of the Liz/Anthony pairing because Anthony is not exciting enough, I wonder if any of them are married or have children. I mistakenly married someone exciting to me, and once I had my daughter, I resented his instability. My values changed. I WANTED security because I had a child to raise and I wanted to give her stability. Bravo to Liz for being mature enough to know that marriage to your best friend, who is solid and stable, has far more likely a chance of succeeding than a whirlwind marriage to someone who seems more exciting. Remember the story of the tortise and the hare, slow and steady wind the race. I wish I had learned this hard lesson before I married my ex-husband, but maybe you will succeed in teaching others what really matters in life! Bravo Lynn for reinforcing this important value.
Mindy B, Rego Park NY
To echo Liz: "YEAAHHH"! This is the moment I have been hoping for with Liz and Anthony. THANK YOU! Now perhaps Grandma Marion's dress can be put to good use?
Heidi, Chicago IL
AT LAST!! I've been waiting sooo long for Elizabeth and Anthony to finally, really choose each other, that this mornings strip left me saying "Yeeeaaahhh!" as well! I know other readers out there will be disappointed, but this reader is looking forward to the beginning of what I'm sure will be a long and happy relationship between the two (though actually it will be three). Kudos Lynn!!
Pamela T, New Jersey
WOOHOO!!!
This strip made me laugh and cry. Both Liz and Anthony have been so hurt in the past, and both of them have been treading so cautiously! Their conversations about their relationship have been so mature, respectful, and -careful- that at times it has seemed that they are discussing a business proposition. Then, today... it takes Liz a minute to absorb what has just happened, and we finally get to see her let go and act like a kid on Christmas morning. She lets down her defenses, and we see that she is a young woman madly in love. Very believable, and very joyful. You made my day, Lynn!
Audrey, Denville NJ
Could someone please tell Lynn "Thank you" for today's comic? It has been worth the wait.
Ceels, Australia
It is just my opinion, but I think Liz is making a huge mistake. Maybe Warren is not Mr. Right, but Anthony is definately Mr. Wrong. He is too needy and weak.
Mary R, South Carolina
ALRIGHT!!!!!! I was so hoping that this would happen for Elizabeth and Anthony!!! Many congrats and I hope that they live happily ever after! I can't wait to see the wedding!!!
Debra, Cleveland Ohio
YES YES YES YES!!!!
I love the Liz/Anthony couple! Thank you for keeping them together!
Beth, NY
Finally, Elizabeth and Anthony are engaged to get married. I think it is awesome. We need another wedding in the strip.....something to liven things up. It is either that or another baby. I hope Warren goes away and leaves Elizabeth alone to enjoy her life with Anthony and Francie. Anthony has done a great job of raising Francie but she does need a mother (or a mother type person) in her life. Elizabeth would be great for her. I hope the wedding is a small and intimate affair with just the immediate families and a couple of friends. Hope they have a long and happy marriage.
Susan, Ontario
I have just one thing to say about today's (3/13/08)strip.......YEAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
FINALLY!!!!!!
Peggy H, Elgin IL
Congratulations, Liz and Anthony! I have waited years for this, and it was so CUTE how they made their decision. You go, Girl! For all her strength, she needs a stable base, and Anthony will be just the person to give her the solid platform to stretch and continue to grow her wings. Watching the kiddo adjust will be interesting, too.
Leiah, Golden CO
You have got to be kidding. That was the proposal? They both basically agreed that they think they are right for each other because they are good friends Not a single word about love. I have lots of good friends, but that doesn't mean I want to marry them. It really sounds like Liz and Anthony are settling. How pathetic and sad for them both.
Lulubean, Brooklin
YES!!! Both my dad and myself have been reading your strip for years! Ever since i was little I knew that Anthony and Elizabeth would end up together !!! So in short CONGRATZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Katherine, Montreal
Wow. What a proposal. Talk about manipulation. If she actually goes through with this, Elizabeth is officially mired in muck and she'll get to experience first-hand why Therese left.
Joe, Michigan
I'm Liz's age, and I used to identify with her, but I feel so sorry for her after reading this strip. Now, it's not that I'm an immature girl who likes "bad boys" -- my husband is good and kind as any Anthony supporter could wish for. What I don't like is that there's no love shown here. The first panel looks like a conversation between two people who are starting a relationship, not between two people about to get engaged, and it reads so awkardly and passively that I can't help but feel like they're settling for each other because that's what's expected of them, not that they're truly in love. That picture of Elizabeth looking silently at Anthony looks to me like someone pushing away doubts and feelings she doesn't think she should have. (See also Anthony, before his first marriage.)
I believe Elizabeth is going to be one of those women who, after a passive life doing everything she's "supposed" to do, will have an epiphany thirty years down the line and starts doing everything that she's secretly wanted to do all along. But I think it'll take her that long to grow up, to be able to communicate openly, and to develop the judgment and wisdom to live her life well. I'd like to meet her then, but right now all I can do is watch her drift along.
Liana K, Ann Arbour Michigan
NO!!!! I am so disappointed that Liz and Anthony just got engaged... and in the most unromantic way possible! Poor Liz, doesn't she deserve some magic?
Cassidy, Vermont
I think your approach to Anthony and Liz's relationship is correct. Friendship as well as passion is the basis for a long successful marriage. My husband of 30 years and myself also had similar conversation to Liz and Anthony's of the practical details as part of our proposal. With a child involved and Anthony making a mistake previously, your handling of the situation makes alot of sense. I look forward to seeing the wedding in future strips.
Lisa, Ramsey NJ
Well, today what I was waiting and hoping for finally happened. I've been so excited to see Anthony and Liz get married. But now I'm unexpectedly very sad. One word was missing from this whole interchange--love.
Michelle, Cincinnati
Here's what we've all been saying.... Elizabeth is over the moon, and Anthony sits there like a pale nothing.
But since you've gone and done it, please let Elizabeth's hair down and make her pretty again. Anthony always loved her at parties with her hair down, looking softly beautiful.
And then let Francie's hair loose in a softer cut. Her hair is too harsh for a little girl her age. I know in "reality" her hair might be stick straight or wildly unmanageable, this is supposed to be a fun light hearted time for Elizabeth and Anthony.
Karen, US Midwest
YEEHAW!!!!! A million thank you's Lynn it finally happened!!!!! Liz and Anthony are soulmates!!.THERE'S GONNA BE A WEDDING!!!! I have been following you since July of 79, (my wife thinks I'm insane because I read fbofw before anything else) oh well. I am a divorced father of one daughter too, like Anthony. I found my Liz (Michelle) who is going to college to be a ese elementary school teacher. Although I am Michaels age. Thank you for all the hard work that you have done through the years not only as a writer but also as a wonderful artist (God bless the Arts). You help me stay sane in an insane world everyday.
GOD BLESS YOU LYNN BRYAN age 38 Plant City Florida
AHHHHHHHHHH Love in the Springtime. Thank you!
I am so happy to see Liz and Anthony so happy!!!! By the reaction Liz had she sure did want to hear the words Anthony just said.
Candace, Elmhurst
Mazel Tov to Elizabeth and Anthony
Henry W, Boston (native Torontonian)
Yippee!!! Hooray!! There will be a wedding, congrats to Anthony and Elizabeth!! I love today's strip.
Julie S, Decatur IN
Finally!!!!
Deborah, Pasadena
Yeah!! I have read your strip my whole life and I think it is about time you guys got Elizabeth and Anthony married! YEahhhhhhh!!!!! It is so funny that something so not real can make you feel so good. I love the strip. I relate to it so much. I have grown up with the kids. I am now in my late 30's w/ kids just like Mike. Love it! Samantha
Samantha S, Princeton
YEEAAAAAHH!! Finally! Now let's get a ring on Elizabeth's finger and show the world they are ready to DO THIS!
Sue, Wayne PA
Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Not Anthony! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!
Jo, Atlanta
I just have one thing to say to todays comic: YEACHHH!!!
I know there are lots of Elizabeth/Anthony shippers out there. But this whole relationship just makes me cringe, its horrible. And now they are engaged.
I say it again: YEACHHH!!
I still love the strip, though.
Rachel, Netherlands
I guess that was proposal was about what I'd expected. Their most romantic date was impassively going through a list of desired qualities in a mate and then checking off the qualities they had that the other wanted. This apparently got them so revved up that Anthony cut dinner short and called for the check.
So a proposal with no self-awareness of their relationship status prior to that point - positioning Liz as Francoise's new stepmom figure is not a role for a "friend", typically, and what exactly DID they do after Anthony got so excited during that dinner? - and with all the charm of a business proposal... well, I can see why Liz got so excited. She's done so much in her life centered around finding and rejecting men, even leaving Mtigwaki when she heard Anthony was available. Apparently her adult life so far has been destined to end up with Anthony, so the wait is finally over. She has settled for him.
Denise L, suburbs of Chicago
I actually got chills when I read today's strip. I'm so happy for Elizabeth and Anthony! Then I had to chide myself - it's a comic strip! The Pattersons feel so real to me. Thanks Lynn, you have given all of your readers such a great gift over the years, and I appreciate you keepng it going.
Jennifer O, Columbus Ohio
Oh, my! A reader yesterday posted that she hoped Anthony would propose in a way that would surprise Liz...and he surely just did! Not a "real" proposal--as some will probably say--but one that obviously thrilled Liz.
I look forward to seeing how Francie feels about this change in her life. For Better or For Worse!
Karen, Virginia
Fairy tales can come true thanks.
Donna P, Dartmouth NS
Finally!! Liz and Anthony! I am so glad that they have moved on to the next step in their lives! I think they are a great couple!!
Roberta, Powell TN
I can't say it any better than Liz: YEEAAAAAHH!
Joe, Santa Cruz
Is today April 1st? Because today's strip has to be a joke.
You go from "Taking it slow" to marriage in one day? And what is that proposal? The most boring, unromantic proposal that could have been thought of.
I "guess" we could get married? We are "friends" we'd make good partners. Yeah, business partners. But marriage? I can't believe anything could lack more chemistry, romance and passion. There was "nothing" there. It is incredibly boring.
It's as if they are just working on an arranged marriage. They work well together on paper. They weren't even considering each other boyfriend and girlfriend! At least according to LIZ as of YESTERDAY.
I'm sorry but this is just awful! This is not the way to end the strip. There is no passion, excitement, or anticipation.
I've seen 2 wet noodles in my soup bowl with more chemistry and excitement. Talk about settling for whatever you can get at the time. Sounds like 2 people who are just bored and are doing what they think you are supposed to do and they've got nothing else so why not.
Dana, UK
I am totally in favor of Anthony's and Liz's relationship. He screwed up with his first marriage (yes, he never should have gone through with it, but hey, people make that kind of mistake people every day, so why should he be different?) but I think it's awesome that he and Liz are getting engaged. I hope they have a good life together. Why shouldn't they have a second chance? Most people in real life aren't that lucky.
Sarah, Hawaii
BOINGGG!
Wesley M, Minneapolis
YES! So glad this worked out. I totally get the deer in headlights look Liz gets when she realizes they're really engaged! Love it Lynn!
Heidi, Clearwater Florida
You're GOOD; You're REALLY good! You really got the details down -- especially of Real kids and the characters among us (including us) -- but with love for all the foibles & quirks of humanity. This is the only comic strip I read, but I never miss it!
Mz. D, New Orleans Ex-Pat, now a GA gal
Oh, vomit. "Would you like to enter into a legally binding contract for companionship with me?" "Only if it will conflate respect with a lack of passion, Anthony..."
Elyse, Chicago
Yeeaaaahhhh
Congrats to the happy couple!!!
And thank you Lynn for a fantastic comic. I love reading it every evening. I wish you could keep it going for years to come. Thank you!
Irmina N, Canberra Australia
Since she moved back home, Elizabeth has turned into a boring clone of that milksop Anthony. All the spirit has been sucked out of that girl. Warren is too good for her.
GMC, Honolulu
I just read today's strip...
I am so disappointed! Liz and Anthony's engagement is happening too fast. And the whole exchange about it sounded like a business deal! I don't get the impression that there is much of a true romantic, butterflies and tinglies, spark between these two.
And I agree with other posters...I wanted to see the Warren episode make Liz really think about what she wanted and WHO she wanted. I would rather see someone entirely new and fresh come into her life. The new guy could fit her like a good shoe (like some people feel Anthony does)...but he could fit her like a jazzy, sexy, YET comfy pair of shoes (think your best party shoes) rather than like a comfy, old pair of loafers (like Anthony).
Please make it so Liz has second thoughts! Make her think through what she's doing. Make her think about her past relationships and what went wrong, what went right and what was her part in all of those. Make her think about what happened in Anthony's marriage.
It just seems like Liz is settling for what's safe and familiar.
I still LOVE this strip and get my 'fix' every day!!!
Thank you!
Lisa, Las Vegas
YES!!!! Faster than I thought.... wonderful news! I am bouncing on my way out to do the school run and cannot wait until my sister in Canada wakes up to see the strip today.
She has lovingly cut out strips regularly once I emigrated to the UK (9 years ago) so I would not miss great developments in the Patterson family saga (which, incidentally, i must have been following for at least 25 + years)In fact, Ellie and I were pregnant at the same time (April and my second son).
I was delighted to eventually discover FBorFW online, and hover around the computer at 8 am local time for the new strip. Even one of my sons hangs around to read it over my shoulder!
I wonder if my friends will understand the spring in my step today when I tell them that someone I 'know' has just gotten engaged!
Kudos, Lynn!
Karen D, Titchfield, Near Portsmouth, England
I have been reading this strip for years, and all I can say is, PATHETIC! The whole Patterson family is pathetic. They are all scared of change and seem to embrace everyone's xenophobic attitudes towards life. Liz went on this great adventure North, where she touched the lives of kids and threw it all away, as well as intentionally sabotaging her relationship with "Mr. Wright" I dont even know what to say. Its a shame to see people throw their dreams away for what was comfortable as a child. Thanks for crippling your characters.
Ben D, San Diego
I hear wedding bells...
Natalie, Wisconsin
I must say that my trip to the gas station to fill up my motorcycle this morning was more romantic than that proposal. Come on, Anthony, at least your proposal didn't have to be as dull and beige as the rest of your life!
Drew, Tokyo Japan
As Liz says YEEEAAAHH! Finally Liz is going to get married to Anthony. I have been watching thier courtship from day one. As soon as I seen Warren show up I knew that this was going to happen. It was the next logical step. This will be the best wedding ever, as long as Warren stays away. I have a feeling that we have not seen the last of him. I dread the thought of him showing up at her wedding to stop it, he just seems like that sort of "person". Like he said "I want to be a part of your life". I think ANthony is going to have to put him in his place.
Holly K, Calgary
WOW ! I can only express my happiness for Elizabeth and Anthony by quoting Liz, YEEEAAAAA !
Andrew M, Kansas City
I like Elizabeth and Anthony, but I have to admit that I was really let down by this proposal. I have seen people negotiate a business deal with more passion. Where were the music, the flowers, the candles, the fancy restaurant, the champagne? I hope that their wedding night isn't this boring.
Nancy, California
I get back from a lovely week with my darling other half and I get to see this. Yay! I couldn't be any happier for Liz & Anthony. They're both growing beautifully and, I believe, learning from their mistakes. And I will be so happy if Warren disappears or gets his life onto a path he can actually stick to. He reminds me of scary the kind of ex that never understands the word no.
Anna O, Santa Fe
I love that Anthony and Liz are together, but where's the love? Where are the "I love you's" and the "I can't live without you's"? Hmmm...while their talk is appropriate and sensible, I want more romance.
Tracey, Springfield
At last!! I'm so happy to hear they are engaged! When it first looked like Elizabeth and Anthony would get back toghther after his marriage and divorce, my thought was that this is so much an example of "For Better or For Worse" real life situations that so many are in, to marry one's soulmate, but still have a child from the first marriage, and an ex-wife who will most certainly make life interesting, if not miserable from time to time. Like Mike and Deanna having to deal with her sometimes overbearing mother, life never goes smoothly.
Charlotte B, SHelton WA
Anthony is whiny, immature and dishonest. He may love Liz, but in his desire to be with her, he destroyed his marriage to Therese. He showed zero compassion for Therese's obvious Post Partum Depression. Therese would never be mother of the year, but she didn't deserve to have a husband who emotionally cheated on her with a former flame. Can you really blame T for being jealous? I wish that hottie police officer would come back on the scene, but I guess Warren will have to do.
Kelly, Vancouver Island
I love the strip - I've been reading for 7 years or more, and almost every event in the strip has paralleled an event in my and my family's life!
I'm glad Liz is finding a nice guy in Anthony, but I agree with other comments that he does seem a bit boring for her. And taking on a child can't be easy either. But even cartoon characters deserve to be happy!
Cathryn J, South Africa
Oh dear, Lynn. Thursday's proposal was the most unromantic thing I've ever seen! Why couldn't Anthony take Liz to a scenic area or special restaurant and do it there? I can't believe the blandness of it all and that Liz is OK with that.
What happened to adventurous Liz? You need to bring her back pronto!
Michelle,US
Eeee! Fantastic story, Lynn! I'm so happy for Liz and Anthony! Despite all the naysayers, I think that they're great together. Anthony may not be the most 'exciting' of guys by some people's standards, but he's the type of guy who will stand by Liz's side through thick and thin! Thanks for the smiles, Lynn--your comic has the power to bring out strong emotions in so many people, and I hope they will enjoy this as much as I have.
Amy, Nova Scotia
Oh no. Oh no oh no. Please tell me I just imagined today's strip. Please tell me Anthony did not propose by saying "Should we discuss marriage?... We've been friends for so long, I think we'd make good partners." No "I love you?" No sweet nothings? Nothing romantic at all? Come on, Elizabeth deserves better than that utilitarian non-proposal, and so do your readers!
E R-P, Michigan
Wow, Lynn, you have really outdone yourself this time. Never in my life have I seen a more boring, more passive, less romantic proposal
Elisabeth, Kansas
Lyn, thank you, thank you and THANK YOU! Liz and Anthony are good together and they both realize it.
Valerie S, Toronto ON
I have read some of the comments regarding marriage yes or no. I like that you seem to bring life to your comic strip. Life is about chances or opportunities to make it what you want it to be. When we got married we were both told that we were crazy and that it would never last. I am happy to say that 41 years later we are still married and more in love than when we said or vows so many years ago. All the ups and downs have been well worth it. I know that I would not be who I am without my wife beside me. I have been a reader of you strip for many years. I believe because you make it real. Good luck and please keep doing it your way.
Virgil C, Long Beach
Yes, Liz & Anthony are finally engaged, I have been waiting so long for this!
Eloise, Pennsylvania
YAAAAA-HOOOOO!!!! Oooooh, I can't wait to see what happens when Warren finds out. Good job, Liz and Anthony! Big congrats!!
So who will design Liz's dress, I wonder? It will be a challenge to top Deanna's gown, but I know you are up to the challenge Lynn!
Jenn N, Boston MA
Finally!!!!!! I am so happy for Liz. They are a great couple. They have both been down a hard road and appreciate each other all the more because of it. Liz is going to make a great step-mom. She's already well on her way. Keep up the wonderful work.
Shannon, Jacksonville
Congratulations, Liz and Anthony!! I wish you the best.
ps~Thanks Lynn!
Laura S, Twin Cities
You've officially "jumped the shark" now.
This strip is dead to me now. Please have Anthony struck by a Mack truck or fall down an elevator shaft.
Thank you.
Sam, Memphis
You've got to be kidding me. "We've been friends so I think we will make good partners"? That might as well be from some pioneer days conversation recognizing that Anthony needs a good woman and mother to his daughter and so,"hey, we get along so jump into the wagon and giddyup." I'm not some dewey-eyed twenty year old. I'm fifty and sorely disappointed in Liz and the direction she is taking. I love the way the strip is true and real, but please knock a little sense into Elizabeth, Lynn. We all need a little magic in our lives.
Sue, Chicago
Yeee-Haaa!!!
Congratulations Liz and Anthony!!!!
I am so happy for two really great characters!
Yay :-)
Marjorie H, Fairfax VA
I thought I would lurk forever, but now I can't stand it. I've been in favor of Liz + Anthony all along, but what a dreadful proposal! Lukewarm! Tentative! Mealy-mouthed! Granted, they're not children any more -- but still, couldn't Anthony have proposed with a fraction of the passion he showed in rescuing Liz from her attacker?
Anna C, Vermont
Thank you thank you thank you. I know they're just characters in a comic strip...but I'm a romantic and have been pulling for Liz and Anthony for a long, long time. This morning I have a large smile on my face and know that love goes on...even in pen and ink!
Margie R, Chicago
Woo hoo.....Congrats Liz. It's about darn time!!
Debbie M, Fremont California
