I can't believe Warren is back. Finally I thought Liz and Anthony would get together. Now I have to have faith he'll believe in her and step up to the plate and ask the important question. Maybe this will push him harder. I've followed the strip for years and dreamed of the two of them together, pleeeeeeeze let it happen. Liz has waited for happiness for too long, and a long time to alone.

Woohoo... gotta love Warren for spicing things up!
Thank you for the wonderful work you do, Lynn.

Warren is such a jerk! He answered that phone deliberately in hopes that it was Anthony calling. He had no right to answer it anyway as it was not his phone. I hope that Anthony will be understanding.

Thank you Francie! Elizabeth doesn't need to grow up too fast. I'm tired of everyone pushing her into this marriage with Anthony. She's clearly not ready. You can see it when she talks about their relationship. This thing with Warren went all wrong. I'm now actually upset that he came back into the picture, making Anthony look even better. UGH! I think by her 27th birthday she should meet a cute teacher or something!!!!! Come on where's the romance Lynn ?!?!

Based on Sunday's strip, I'll have to say Liz is not ready for motherhood yet, she's still more in big sister mode. Hopefully she'll wise up and realize she's not the right one to step into the mother role for Francoise.
Also, poor Warren seems to be dealing with a mental breakdown or perhaps bipolar disorder. Just like Therese with her PPD, he doesn't seem to be getting the support he needs. I hope he does.

Ok, I LOVE FBORFW but have one issue... can you dress Elizabeth a little less grandma? I don't expect to see her thong riding above her pants but she isn't as old as she's dressed. High wasted pants? They look like they have elastic.. Some hiphuggers and a cute tshirt in her off time would be nice. I've been married almost 15 years, 2 kids and no, I haven't lost all of the baby weight. Elizabeth is way younger than me and I wouldn't dress like her.

fter reading this past Sunday's strip (3/9), I just have to ask: why do the Pattersons eat like its their last meal? Every time I see them eating in the strip, there's always gross sounds (SLURP SMACK MUNCH) and bits of food and spittle flying around. Just once, I would like to see Elly and company eat in a more civilized manner.

When Warren came up at Liz's door and acted like a big jerk, I felt extremely mad. Nobody I know has ever done that before, Lynn. Warren in the strip, is so stupidly bad. I feel ashamed of my own name.

I like the drama going on in Liz's life right now, and even though I have never really liked Anthony too much, he's better than Warren, who is really behaving rather strangely- since when is the way into a girls heart acting like a total jerk? haha. I disagree with another post I read about the way they wear their hair- the person (whom i suspect was male but couldn't tell from their name) clearly overestimates the comfort of "letting your hair flow." I have long hair and I usually DO wear it in a bun because it is a lot more comfortable for me. Especially if it is 11 at night and I am in my room alone- I will always have a bun. And I, like Elizabeth, am not an "old spinster librarian," I am an 18 year old girl in college. It might not be "pretty," but it is very practical.

I've been reading the strip on and off since the seventies, when I was just a pre-teen. The Pattersons were so true-to-life!
Now this verisimilitude is upsetting me, because I can see that Warren is probably suffering from bipolar disorder. The little that Lynn has revealed thus far still has me doubting, but his actions are hitting very close to home for me.
I know nothing of Warren's backstory, but from comments I've read here, he did behave strangely on occasion. I'll definitely be 'tuning' in more regularly...

HILARIOUS! That is EXACTLY what "'Lizbeth" should be doing with Francie! Playing with her, and still keeping th adult role (as seen in the end when she says something about cleaning up). Trust them, Liz and Anthony. They are doing it right and taking it slow.
Also, I liked Liz's response to Anthony about Warren answering her phone. He obivously knows about the past stuff that has happened and isn't too worried about it - Liz is having lunch with his daughter on what I guess is the next day? Either way, BRAVO to Liz and Anthony - I really hope we see them get married before the strip goes into "holding". :)

Please, please, please don't let Warren mess things up for Elizabeth. The poor girl has been through enough and is now in what looks like a beautiful, stable relationship with Anthony. I was almost on the edge of my seat while that was developing, and I hate to see anything go wrong with it.
Warren, like Paul, doesn't think beyond his own needs. Anthony is so different. He's the one for Liz.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest,

I have been reading FBFW ever since Michael was an infant! I relate so much to your strip. My friend gave me the book about pregnancy in older age when I was 39 and about to have my youngest. She is just a little older than April. Now I have to catch the stip online-I am glad I can. I tell my older children now (one 30 and one 28) stories about the Pattersons just like I am talking about my neighbors.

My local paper goofed and failed to print Saturday's strip (a little panic there) so I looked it up here, and what a marvelous discovery, this website with Elly's Coffee Talk! I agree, I'm not sure about Warren, he seems a little mysterious, so we're not sure if he's a good guy or a creep. He certainly has boundary issues, holding Liz so tightly and answering her phone. I love this strip, and look forward to reading it every day. Sooooo lucky to find it online! I feel much better now; if my local paper fails to print I have back-up. Whew!

Oh no! I can see it coming now. This is a preemptive plea: Please don't introduce Anthony's ex wife back into the picture. Studying recent patterns, and today's hopeful strip, i can see his kid an dLiz developing their own, healthy relationship, a planned marriage, and terez realizing she is really about to lose that which she cast off, suddenly appreciating what she had, not to mention that biological clock ticking (though she didn't want children, her values are changing along with her fading beauty and aspirations) and waltzing back in, the perfect wife and mother, apologizing for rejecting her family in foolishness, yaddee yadda, and really screwing up. Please, if this is the plan, have Paul's girlfriend move on to Warren, the bushpilot who, unbeknownst to liz, he once dated, and it was he who got Paul and her together, because he felt guilty seeing her again, so he confided to Paul that Elizabeth had cheated on him and made him promise not to say anything, but she confided in him(Warren) that she never wanted to live up there in the middle of nowhere but didn't know how to tell him driving (whew) Paul into the arms of his old friend....OK, better still, ignore this, have them live happily ever after.

The Sunday Comic.
I'm really not sure how I feel about that one? I mean, I've read FBoFW since I was six or seven, and I grew up with Michael and Elizabeth. I watched April mature into a young lady, and now things have come full circle. A part of me feels sad that they're all growing up, but another part of me is overjoyed that their lives are so full.
I imagine that sounds odd when talking about a comic in a newspaper, but FBoFW is one of those rare gems that not only breaks the Fourth Wall, it doesn't *need* one.
And that makes me feel very good inside. Thank you, Lynn. Thank you very much.
