As a vintage clothing enthusiast, I absolutely must know what research went into the story about Dee finding a wedding dress from the 1940s in the crawlspace. It is one of the most completely ridiculous things I've heard in a while. If anything, it was the perfect example of why vintage clothes in good condition are rather hard to find today. There is no possible way that a wedding dress that's been shoved into a cardboard box and stuck in a dark, damp crawlspace for so long would come out looking the way it was shown in those strips. In reality, it would have been horribly discolored, moldy, full of holes, and what's left of the material would have become so fragile that there's no way anyone would ever be able to wear it again. A regular dry cleaner certainly wouldn't be able to fix it, either. That's a job for a professional restorer and I highly doubt even they'd be able to save something that's been so poorly stored for so long. That dress didn't even really look like a wedding dress from the 1940s, either.

And why haven't Mike or Dee made any effort to tell Elly that they found her mother's wedding dress?

About Mike & Dee's kids: Meredith and Robin are just behaving as kids do. Period. There isn't one of us out there who hasn't participated in full body contact sibling rivalry...and got away with it. These are vignettes of a family life that hit you like "Yup, that's happened with me and my kids". It was really telling and touching that after the bickering, they still slept together as brother and sister, neither really wanting to be apart. I have three preteen kids. And there are days where I have to whip out the whistle, put on the referee shirt and yell "unecessary roughness, no allowance!". You choose your battles with your kids. This strip goes out to many regions of the US, Canada, and other countries, so you can't expect these characters to meet your cultural norms of a parent child relationship (they still beat kids in the Philippines with impunity)It is what it is. Let it be.

I just wanted to say that I've been reading your strip for as long as I can remember! The first I can remember clearly was the story of April's birth, and so I am glad to see older strips running (they're new to me!). It's a wonderful strip that reminds me at times of life with my family.

I must admit, even though I either can't remember or never saw Liz and Anthony's relationship the first time around, I still love their relationship now. I think that they are good for each other, regardless of what has happened in the past. Some loves just never die, and it seems to me that Therese never wanted a family with anyone, while Anthony wanted one with her. They just were not compatible, as was seen when Anthony opted to stay home with the baby and she decided to have minimal involvement in order to pursue her career.

At any rate, I love what you're doing, what you've done, and I hope you will continue. (I would also like to point out that if you ever consolidated all of your strips into one collection, I would purchase it once I had the capital to do so)

I have been following the comic strip for years. I cried when Farley died; I was saddened when Grandma died and when Grandpa Jim had his strokes. I was happy at the wedding of Michael and Deanna and the birth of Meredith and Robin. I have often felt that Elizabeth has gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to romance. Her story has been one of unrequited love. I hope that the crawl space discovery of her grandmother's wedding dress and Deanna's desire to have the dress "spruced up" at the drycleaner's will lead to a happy event in Elizabeth's life where she will wear the dress. Elizabeth and Anthony deserve some happiness because they have both known the pain of unrequited love.

Have the characters always blinked on the computer strips? If they have I obvioulsy need to pay more attention :S

I love the strips and can relate to Elizabeth greatly ( I am a 25 y/o female). I have always agreed about Deanna's hair though :S Needs an update.

For the love of god, what is Elizabeth doing with Anthony? For a while there, she was an interesting and independent young woman, doing her own thing and exploring her life. Now...she's ready to settle down with her boring whiny high-school sweetheart?? Liz, you can do better! You could stay single! You could date Warren--he's cool, and obviously adores you! You could turn out to be the token gay character (unless that falls to April). You could do a whole lot of things.... tell Anthony you want to move on and have a life while you're young and DO IT!
