My wife and I are long time fans of Lynn's work and we are particular fans of Farley and now Edgar and Dixie. We have often wondered if Farly & Edgar are full or part Bearded Collie as we used to breed and show them. The personalities of Farley and Edgar were so much like those of our Beardies and the coloring is so similar that we believe that Lynn must know our wonderful breed.
We have a sheltie, Gem, and had a Beardie, Meg, and they were virtually reflected to us by Dixie and Edgar. It was uncanny. We lost our beloved Meg to cancer this past April and take pleasure in reading about the current Patterson family pooches in the strip.
Thanks for being so close to life for Susan and me.
Best wishes,
Chris C
Dear Chris,
Eddy is part Old English Sheepdog, part yellow lab, but he certainly looks like a bearded collie-style pooch! I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Thanks for telling me that Ed and Dixie in the strip seem like part of your family.
All the best,
Lynn
