I enjoy your comic strip everyday and have for a long time. We have a son, Simon, and two daughters, Dana and Cecily, and our family had lived in Woodstock, Ont. and Kingston, Ont. over 20 years ago. I always thought that Lynn lived in our home as what happened in the comic strip also seemed to happen in our family.
Our youngest, Cecily, works for the Humane Society here in Tacoma and we are a foster family for animals so we especially appreciate the animals in the strip and the idea of the Farley Foundation. Thank you all for many years of enjoyment.

Dear Elly,

I wanted you to know that without you in the morning, my routine would be out of sync. My older brother and I have been reading about your family since we were little. We started reading the comic strips in the newspaper about eleven years ago when we were just kids.
I'm now a 21 year old college student, and my brother's 24, also in college. We never go a day without discussing the ups and downs the Patterson family goes through. We feel as if it's our family too.

I applaud Lynn for moving on to the hybid strips, because they bring back so much memories of the kids growing up. One strip that is close and dear to me is the one where a young Michael accidently slams the door on little Liz's finger, sending her to the emergency room. The same thing happened to me when I was about Liz's age and I was in awe at the coincidence of that particular strip. That's one thing I've loved about fbofw - the storylines are close and personal to the readers.

So Thank You Lynn Johnston (& Elly) for making my life that much better, for putting a smile on my face each and every morning. You probably get that comment a lot, but believe you me, it comes 100% from the bottom of my heart.

Your Biggest Fan Always.

I'm not sure how old Lynn (and Elly) actually are, but they must be my age. Every stage that Elly has gone through in her life is exactally the stage I'm going through at the time. The menopause strips were wonderfully funny and uplifting. It's so comforting to know that the FBorW strips are going to help me get through the day with a dose of great laughter and understanding of just what really goes on in a women's daily life.
Just as I read my Bible everyday, so I read FBorW. Thanks for all the great times!!!!!

I have been a reader of the comic page for many years (my memories go back to "Mutt & Jeff", "Joe Palooka", "Terry and the Pirates", "Li'l Abner", etc.) and have to tell you that FBorFW in my opinion rates as Number One among contemporary comic strips, and is the first one I read. Please keep up the good work.

Dear Lynn,

I was privileged to be at your talk in Montreal at the Jesu Theatre "a hundred years ago". You touch me daily with your insights into life. Recently Elly went to take care of Iris. So often care-givers are forgotten. Life situations like grandpa's stroke is another life situation you are handling so well. I caught your interview on CBC and was pleased that you had such a good interview. Continued success in all you do.
