Ever since I was a small girl we have enjoyed Holidays to Canada and soon became fans of For better For worse... My mother was hooked and our friends in Canada would save up a few months of news paper clipping then send them to us (In England) so we could sit down and enjoy them. It was always precious because for those moments with those clippings in my hands I could pretend I was in Canada. Whenever we went over for a trip mum would buy the latest FBFW book and we would fall in line as to who got to read it when. Mum first, then Dad then me!
Now all grown up I still look forward to logging onto my computer, cup of tea in hand to read the latest installment. If I am having a particually stressful week I purposely dont log in so I have a treat for the weekend!
The stories never get old, the characters never lose their charm and the sparkly is in every strip.
I work as a special needs teaching assistant, and am training to be a teacher like my mother before me. I have absolutely loved the recent story line with April and Shannon, it has really touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye many-a-time.
I think FBFW is just a perfect representation of how wonderful family life can be.
What a wonderful family to grow up with!!
Blessings

Just finish watch the American Masters Charles Schulz special. I laughed, I cried, and wonder why I didn't appciate it more when they where first drawn... Then I started thinking that I am glad that you started the Hybrid strip mix in with the new. Because there is nothing wrong with looking back, with different points of view. Be it real life, or a fictional one. We all see things differently at different stages of life, be it young, just married, with kids, with teenagers, or older and hopefully wiser. Keep up the good work

I have been reading For Better or For Worse for a long time. I got to meet Lynn some years ago at a signing and was able to "score" a sketch of Farley in my book. I loved that character especially and, as another reader mentioned, I also hope to see Farley's tree once more.
Kudos to all on the continuing stories and strip and the wonderful website!

Lynn, it has been 20 years since I lost my parents - one to cancer four days before Christmas 1987 and my dad to a stroke two weeks later. Your wonderful comic strip was about all I read while sitting in the hospitals with my parents. Each year around the holidays, I really get sad but you bring out strips that emphasize family and friends that encourage me to keep going and join in family events. Watching Elly, Iris and Jim ... as well as the absent Phil ... go through this illness has been wonderful and soul-healing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

OMG! U HAVE TO CHANGE THE STUPID MONTHLY LETTERS! ITS OCTOBER, BUT UR STILL ON SEPTEMBER! GOSH! keep up, will ya?
Anna, Maryland
Sorry, Anna - we've discontinued the letters. Keep an eye on our site for some new features, though!
As a band/choir director, I am very disappointed in Lynn's decision for April to quit music because she won't be professional. Every year I have students quit choir or band because they know they will not major in it in college. Some parents tell me that their child is better off studying for their "major" in high school, and can't waste their extra time on the arts. However I also have alumni who contact me every year and consider themselves lucky that they stayed with music in high school and (even though they majored in something else) also in college. They are grateful that when they are stressed with their career/major that they can turn to music for release, expression, and enjoyment. Lynn, what message are you sending to the students that read your strip? Is music and the arts not worth your time unless you are planning on making a career out of it?
