Sometimes I hate it when I am right. Last week I told my husband that I thought something was going to happen to Grandpa. The flashback seemed to personal. He agreed, and lo and behold here we have it. I know we must all go in our time, but it is always such a blow, whether it is a blessing or not.

Lynn,
I have to give you credit -- this was a shock to everyone. May Jim be mourned well, and with a minimum of flashback strips.

Oh, dear. Poor Jim. Looks to me like he had another stroke pretty much on the first anniversary of the last one. Let's hope for everyone's sakes that he doesn't linger too long 'cause (and I wish I didn't speak from the experience of my mother's death) that is THE worst way to go. Better to go out quick and not put the Pattersons through weeks of doubt.

Lynn,
Being deployed to Iraq has taken me away the normalcy of day to day interactions with friends and family. Your strip allows me to momentarily escape into the normalcy of the Patterson's world. Thank you for your wonderful strip of real life issues that we all can relate.
Also, for those of us that have followed your strip through the years, your flashbacks to Michael's childhood memories have been both fun and nostalgic.
Paul, Balad Air Base, Iraq
[All the best, Paul -thanks for your kind note. Take care.]
Dear Lynn & Co.,
Well, I have to hand it to you: I never thought you would actually go through with it, but if you have indeed let Grampa Jim cross the Great Eternal Divide, then more power to you. Giving him a miraculous cure would have given unrealistic hope to too many stroke victims & families among your readership, yet to allow him to remain helpless in perpetuity would have been cruel and unneccessary.
By the way... Michael never did explain why he thought Grandma Marian was 'great'. As usual with Michael, it turned into a story about HIM, and then segued into an Elly-and-Jim moment. But we never found out Fact One about Marian. Just thought I'd jingle your bell about that, darlin'.
And if I were Dee? I'd smack Michael in the head about twenty times with SuperTeddy and see how amusing he thinks it is, then. WHY does Michael have to be such a childish [beepitybeep]?!?

I do love this strip for the most part, but it really bothers me that you write Merry and Robin to act so much older than they are. Children their supposive age do not comprehend or speak in the way you reflect them. The reality of this strip is what has kept me hooked in for so long. It is disappointing when it comes across as unbelievable.

Hi Lynn --
I just want to say thank you for creating a comfortable world for us all to visit. I do hope there might be a point of reconsidering freezing the characters in time. I'm the same age as Michael and have enjoyed growing up right alongside him. So often, I go back and read through the strips and identify with the Patterson family, but mostly I settle in for that cozy feeling of appreciating your world. I wish you all the best in your personal and professional journey.

Lynn,
I have been an avid reader for many years...since I was a teen and am now in my mid 30s. I love your strip and would love to see it continue with the characters aging. Your strip is so true-to-life.
I really would love to see Lizabeth with Anthony.
