Friday the 28th

It's official...I love the new format. Although I've been reading your strip for many years, our papers did not originally carry your strip from day 1. Now, as I read the older strips, I feel as though I'm sitting down with an old friend, drinking our coffee and listening to her stories about funn things that happened before we met. I love it! Maybe it's because I'm a sociology major in school, but I just love to learn about other people, other societies, other ways of life.

I really believe you've hit on a new format. I predict other strips will follow your lead.

Gosh! Are all Canadians as nice as ya'll seem to be?

As all your fans I too have related so much of your family to mine. I especially like the old strips which remind me of what endeared me to the strip from the beginning such as -Elizabeth eating the sand at the beach, then pouring it over her head and then Michael (as any typical bratty older brother)continuing by dumping more on her. That just cracked me up-it was so real

For Better or For Worse has been my favorite comic for almost as long as I can remember reading the comics. I've called it my "soap", because the stories are so often very interesting and addictive. In recent years, I've especially enjoyed the story arc between Elizabeth and Anthony. Their "reacquaintance" at the wedding brought tears to my eyes.

I recently bought the For Better or For Worse TV series on DVD. I absolutely love it. I showed it to my sister who is 5 years older than I am, and I still haven't gotten the DVDs back. I have gotten her hooked on FBOFW. I don't know if her devotion will be quite as fanatical (I own all the collection books, except for a couple of the special editions, and just recently the Ned doll) as mine.

Lynn, the artwork in the early strips is not amateurish. It is charming! I hope to be able to keep reading FBorFW in some format for years to come. Sincere best wishes to you. You are indeed gifted!

Hi Lynn,
I hardly know where to start.
I have loved the Pattersons for as long as they have been carried in our local paper, The Spectrum. I have also told countless friends about my obsession with Elly and her family. Even my kids and husband make fun of me! But there is such a connection with the Patterson family, that I feel part of it.
I have to say, that the story of Farly and April will always be one of my dearest. But there have been many others....my mom died when yours did too. She would have loved reading FBOFW in her Ceder City paper everyday, pouring a cup of coffee, and then calling me to talk about it. I felt orphaned too....just like Elly will feel when her dad is gone. I can relate on so many levels. I am a teacher just like Elizabeth. I have been teaching for 26 years...and have stuck many a strip up in our faculty room. Her experiences were very familiar to all of us. I have three children and many friends who read your strip, but none feel the way I do about it...the Pattersons are so real to me....Elly thinks like me! You have raised a wonderful family for all of us to enjoy...now it is time for you to enjoy some time for yourself! I love the hybrid too! Don't stress over it...if some don't love it, so what...WE DO!

p.s. If you ever get a chance to get down here, please let me show you around the southern end of the state of Utah. It is beautiful here...and very warm year round. St George is a desert. We are 2 hours north of Las Vegas...(High School Musical 2 was filmed right behind my house)! I am only 1 hour from Zion National Park, and about 3 hours from Bryce Canyon or the Grand Canyon. Lots of breath taking sights, hiking, and shopping! But mostly you have a dear friend here Lynn, who would love to be your tour guide. Best of luck to you in your life ahead. We will love what ever you write...have a great life, and come see God's Country!

Love, Bonnie VanA

Lynn,
I feel like we are friends, although I am a complete stranger to you. I have grown up the Pattersons and so much of their lives has mirrored my own. I just wanted to say that your work is so appreciated and loved and FBOFW is the first thing i look at each day.
I love looking back on the past strips, and have actually started rereading my book collection.
I am sending you my best wishes and thoughts and a coffee cup full of positivity!

I suppose that during all of Michael's reminiscing that served as the frame for the reprints of vintage strips, Meredith has been listening patiently. My 4.5-year-old son, meanwhile, has weighed in with his own opinion.

I had today's (9/27/07) strip up on my computer, and he took one look and said, "No old For Better or For Worse!"

We have a budding critic on our hands!

I couldn't figure out what was going on in the strip the last couple days. I asked for info in a chat room & I'm grateful someone gave me this website. I prefer your newer characters. I love the strip. I wish you well & hope you'll continue writing.

I LOVE the website-the games and the strip fix since I am a returning student and take a couple of minutes a day to depressurize and do a couple of games and read the day's strip since I am not getting the daily paper for awhile! Been reading since I was a kid- since 1979!

I have always loved your strip. It has seemed to parallel my own life, with married life, kids, grandparents, etc. I've enjoyed the website and your books because they let me look back on a time in my life when my own kids, who are teens and twenty-somethings now, were young.

The same can be said of the hybrid strips. It is like looking at a photo album of family life. Glad to hear there are new strips coming too -- I love the old and the new.
