Wednesday Wake-up

Needless to say, September 11th is beyond a sad day in American history. I was re-reading my fborfw collection and came across the strip where April buys a poppy for rememberance day...and is thinking about the twin towers in NY. Thank you.

Jessica, USA

I am so happy that the strip will continue on for a while, and will absolutely enjoy it while it lasts. The hybrid format is great.....those early strips are classics in my book. One of my all time favorites is the one of Elly beating the radio to death with the vacuum cleaner head after hearing it play the "Wives and Lovers" song. I guess that indicates that I've been a fan of FBOFW for a long time. I save the BEST for last when reading the comics, and yours is the best, hands down.

I know you will deal successfully with whatever life throws at you. I always suspected that you and I were the same age, and now I know it for sure.

Here's wishing you all the best!!

I think it's very brave of you to forge into new territory and create a hybrid comic strip. As always, you are a pioneer in the comics industry.

I do wish your characters could grow and continue to develop, but I highly respect the groundbreaking work you are doing here.

Emma

Simply put...

I love your early stuff. No one, in any media, has captured the essential craziness of parenting babies, toddlers, 'tweens & teens as well as you have. The sibling spats, the family train trip out west in two cabinettes, putting a ding in the husband's mid life crises car...were you watching us over the years?

My kids are growing up, too. Even my "April" is 9. So keep bringing back the early years. I'll laugh & cry right along with you.

Best wishes to you and your truly talented team.

Thanks so much for the great job over the years. This is my absolute favorite comic strip.

Thanks also for the section on Liz and Anthony. I enjoyed rereading all of the strips in one concise place. I am so glad they have reunited, whether permanently or not. I am so happy for them! I think it makes us all long for that first love, or that one that got away.

Stephanie, Ohio

I just love this strip, I am happy that it is going to continue in the hybrid format as I didn't find it untill just befor April was born. It is great seeing the past especially from Michaels point of view to his daughter.
Lynn, keep up the great work and keep healthy

Lynn, just wanted to tell you how much you have touched my life. FBFW is the first thing i check when i turn on the computer. I have watched Micheal and Elizabeth grow up into responsible young adults, have remembered my own teen angst years with April. Where John had to have cars and trains, my own husband has antique John Deeres. When Marion passed away, it was at the same time that my mom was sick and passed. Your story line helped me through some very emotional roller coaster rides.
I say thankyou for all, and I look forward to remembering the beginning with Michael.
P.S. I think Elizabeth and Anthony deserve to be happy with each other. She deserves to be happy but I could see some trouble brewing when his ex sees how happy they are together!!

I have enjoyed your strip for years. The Children in the strip are about the same ages as my children, so they were doing about the same things at the same times. There was reality in those strips. I am now reading your new strips and like the way you are blending the old with the new. Thanks for keeping the strip going on.

Lynn, I like the hybrid as I didn't start reading FBOFW until around 10 years ago. Today's with Michael showing his daughter the super teddy reminded me of times when my husband does something with the kids that messes up the house; but its great they are connecting. Am glad that you will be finishing up the Liz and Anthony story and would love it if you were able to get April off to college,

Hi Lynn,
Just a note of support and appreciation for opting to do the hybrid strips. I enjoy seeing the old stories and artwork and the blend of old and new is really creative.

but you and FBORFW,have been a daily part of my life~!~~what seems like forever,,,,,,,,for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart, it is sad,but we all wish you well!!as you go on to the next phase of your life~~~thank you~!~~

I have watched FB or FW grow up. It was my main comic before heading to school, it was a daily ritual.

I grew up with Michael, he was a year younger that me. He was like the little brother I never had. I was an only child and seeing what Michael was going through was funny.

I can understand why you want to slow down, I commend you for it. My grandfather passed away in January and I sometimes feel that I could have frozen him in time. I miss him terribly. I think seeing to much death in your stips would cause more pain than funny.

I hope to see more on the future of Michael, Elizabeth and April. Ending them would leave questions and voids. Some of the questions might be:

April's Graduation-Seeing the last Patterson graduate...

Elizabeth and Anthony-Do they blossom or just friends...

Michael's Writing-How far does his writing get him...

Grandpa Jim-Does he make it back around...I don't know if this one will get answered...

What college does April go to...Maybe the college at least...We can see that she wants to be a Vet Doctor...

I really look forward to seeing how far this goes. I can tell you one thing for sure, you have a dedicated fan right here.

Have a great future!
