« Liz, Anthony and Francie | Main | Liz, Anthony and Francie volume II »
I have enjoyed so many of the FBoFW strips. However, my all-time favorite was a Sunday strip of a conversation between April and Elly concerning relativity! It was rich with meaning and could be appreciated on many levels. I liked it so much that I had a copy of the strip framed.

My favorite strip is... well, there's two of them that are tied for first place. The first one is the cartoon of Elly in a hugely messy house with John entering in the door and she says "Abandon hope, all ye who enter here."
The second is another one of Elly after having given a tiny Liz (I think) a cookie and the ensuing mess and the caption read "One cookie. I only gave her one cookie."
Those two speak so clearly to my own life that I've printed them and posted on my fridge to make me laugh.

Definitely, my favorite strip is the one when Farley rescued April and died in the attempt ... years later it came up in a conversation with someone I hardly knew. It definitely made an impression with anyone who had a child and a much-loved, loyal dog.
Nothing like a good dog.

My absolute favorite strip is the one depicting Butterscotch's habit of chewing electric cords. I laugh out loud each time I re-read it!

[This has been one of our more controversial strips, actually! If you have a rabbit or small children, please make sure to keep cords and cables well out of their reach!]
I like complicated backstories for minor characters. In fact, if I have a favorite TV show, I like making some up for minor characters. So my favorite FBOFW storylines have been probably ones where other readers were going ARGH! get back to the Pattersons! I just about had axiety attacks until I found out Aunt Ruby would be OK after she was attacked. And I would love to find out what happens with Candace and Rudy, two survivors who found each other and seem to be making it work.
P.S. Prediction: Given this strip's history, Jeremy Jones is April's major love interest in about 5-10 years. (IMHO) :~]

My all time favorite strip is Sunday, January 9, 2005 Elly's attempt to use their new YapTel automated phone answering service is a disaster! It is my favorite because it appeared the day after my mother would have turned 80, if she had not died 8 years earlier. It was as if she was laughing at herself as I was reading it - my mother hated any form of automated answering machine and she looked like Elly did when she tried to use them. This remains my absolute favorite of all times!!!
