About Sharon: Sharon Edwards was Liz's favourite grade school teacher. When Liz moved on to seventh grade, Miss Edwards was transferred to Liz's middle school because she wanted to teach math to students in higher grades. In a wheel chair since the age of sixteen (after a motorcycle accident), Miss Edwards was the one who inspired Liz to become a teacher. She's now Mrs. Taylor (she married her wheelchair mechanic!) and still participates in marathons. She and Liz email each other regularly to discuss teaching and everyday gossip.
