Elly was a young housewife at the beginning of the strip. She worked as a newspaper columnist and then at the library while her kids were young. When they got older, she got a job at Lilliput's bookstore, which she eventually bought.

In 1991 she gave birth to April, a surprise baby who was delivered at home during an ice storm. Toward the end of the strip, Elly sold the bookstore and retired to enjoy travelling and being a grandma.

A Random Fact About elly:
Elly never learned to skate. Her cash-strapped parents gave her the choice of learning to skate or to ski, and she chose skiing.


 
Robin is Mike and Deanna's youngest child.
