The change in style of the artwork over the past 30 years: is this just natural development in years of drawing the comic, or is it an intentional change because the artist wishes to make a change?

It's a mixture of both. Lynn has always striven to grow and improve as an artist, and so over the years of FBorFW the art has become more complex and realistic. This evolution in her drawing style has allowed her to challenge herself, and to feel like she's giving her all as an artist.
